Top Three from Be Inspired, and a little Potting Shed fun

It just so happens that Mary has the top viewed post from last week, but she also is one of my very favorite places for inspiration. Since building her Potting Shed this year, she's had a brand new (but looks old) place to putter. Here are just a few photos from this last year that prove that whatever the time of year, Mary knows how to inspire with elaborate tablescaping, delicious food, beautiful vignettes, flowers and birds of all kinds, and some of the most wonderful photo shoots in blogland.

Thank you Mary, for always "bringint it" to the party.
You have been such an inspiration to me this year!

Here are the other two in the Top Three for this last week
Thank you ladies!!!

And the Farmer's Daughter has been gathering inspiration

A "Word" for the New Year

Some of you may know this, others of you that are new over here, may not. I have another little blog where I share more of "me". It's a place where I share my thoughts on life, and God, and on our relationship with Him. I like to say "it's not your grandmother's Bible Study.", because it's real, and it's relevant, and hopefully not "preachy". Just some insight from God's Word for our daily lives.

I'd been away from it for six months due to my husband's illness, but God has been nudging me this last week to post. So, I'm just letting you know that I'm still posting over there, even though I've been on "break" for awhile. If you read my post here on Common Ground about "The year that was...2012", then I share some of those thoughts on this first post of the New Year. This is just a little invitation, hope you'll come by and get to know who I am on a little deeper level. I have a whole other life than taking pictures of pretty little things.
I'm sharing this post at The Lettered Cottage
xoxo,

Welcome to The Marketplace

Hi Everyone, are you back in the groove? Christmas decor put away, kids back in school, resolutions made and being kept? I think this week is the unofficial week of "Business As Usual". After Christmas and New Year's it only takes me a minute to start thinking about Valentine's Day. OK, I'm the original "Holiday Junkie". So here are a few things that I found from last week that caught my attention.

Grain Sack Heart Door Hanger

French Bird Rack from Knick of Time

Winter white covered deer antler
from UpscaleDownHome

from LemonVerbena1

Vintage Books
from PrinceSnowFarm

The Sponsor Spotlight is on Christie Scibior today and her wonderful watercolor paintings and prints. As I browsed her Etsy Shop I wanted to share just a few of her pieces that would be perfect for a nursery or child's room. The soft colors and precious little figures of children and animals will have you conjuring up thoughts of storybook characters of yesteryear.

Thank you, Christie,
Love your precious art pieces.

This is a linky party for all your Etsy and Online Boutique items that are FOR SALE. Link up to three items, and/or a link to your post in which you feature your items. Please have a link to the individual item if possible. And if you're here to browse, then we're so glad to have you. This link will be live all week, so please come back often to see what new items have been listed.

Have a great week, everyone!

Decor therapy...

I always feel like my brain needs a little jump start this first week of January. After all the busy-ness from before Thanksgiving until New Year's, once January 2 hits, I tend to "coast" a little. Putting my house back together and doing some much needed cleaning has kept me busy. I had a Hoover bag full of glitter, half chewed faux berries, and cat hair...don't ask.

After looking at my Dining Room for this last week, I realized I needed a change. One day things look fine, the next day you want to totally start over. So first, down came the honkin' window box...now what? Whatever is on this table needs to be substantial, at least I feel like it does. So I grabbed the old basket from under the buffet, white poinsettias and all. OK, so maybe all the mental energy I had was directed at finding a new centerpiece.

I think I'll keep the grain sack runner here until after Valentine's Day.
It does have a red stripe, after all.

And I'm keeping the redwork tablecloth on the buffet,
I just decluttered a little from this photo.

I looked at it closely and realized
that there were little hearts woven into the design.
Why hadn't I noticed that before?

And the faux chalkboard above the sideboard in the Hall
got it's new message, compliments of my sweet sis,
Happy New Year!

Other than that, I just removed the white feather tree
and replaced it with the iron urn of faux paperwhites.
OK, so that wasn't all that drastic.
A few simple changes were all that I needed...
this week.

How about you...
does your brain need a vacation?
Thank goodness I have all of you out there
that are on top of your game.

Now, I'll be moving on to the Living Room...
my mantel needs some h.e.l.p.

Great turnout for the first
Be Inspired Friday!
thanks guys!
(I really needed it;
the inspiration that is.)
