Vintage Inspiration #85 Fleaing France

Hello all, time for some Vintage Inspiration, and do I have some today!  I want to share a blog with you that I've recently found through Pinterest, Fleaing France.   And then I was surprised and thrilled to see that Simone had linked up with the party last week. Where else but blogland could you make these wonderful connections?

Simone is an American from NYC, who is living her dream in France. She had traveled to France regularly for years when she decided to make a permanent move to Provence. Simone is now putting her love for the Brocante to work in her business, "Fleaing France".

In Simone's words:

"Fleaing France sprang out of a love of all things French and brocante related. As an American who traveled to France regularly for 15 years, I lived the trials and tribulations of trying to find those special markets, brocantes and restaurants, often arriving as they were folding up tables or pulling in chairs.
Once living here full time, I found myself answering questions and taking those sent to me by friends and former guests to see the treasures of my adopted home..........thus FleaingFrance came to be.

Whether you are flying into Paris for a weekend or visiting Provence for a week, I am happy to be of service. I offer both guided tours and customized itineraries should you wish to explore on your own.
Please feel free to send an email and I will answer as promptly as possible.

If you can't make it here and are dying for something French and fabulous in the mean time, peek in the FleaingFrance Brocante to browse, dream or bring home a treasure!
When you are ready to shop France like an insider....just.....
Say "Oui" to the Flea!"

Thanks so much Simone, for allowing me to showcase your blog!

Hope you'll take a few minutes to visit Simone's blog.  She's in the process of redesigning her website, so look for more info and shopping tour dates soon. And if you have an hour to spend immersed in all things French, then browse her Pinterest boards. just beautiful!

And now some more inspiration from last week!

Jennifer from Town and Prairie recreated a wonderful clock
for her family room.

Revi from Revisionary Life made over an old trunk into a real beauty.

Marcy from Antique Chase made this wonderful burlap runner
and then like a pro, hand knotted it for a real French feel.

Tracie from Fishtail Cottage found a wonderful whimsical piece
to transform into her own potting bench!

has me in love with her vintage sink/tub turned flower box!

Just Gorgeous, Jann!

Magazine Inspiration

I always love joining in for the Copy Cat Challenge
at Debbiedoos and since I've been all about getting my plants and yard in shape I was looking for something simple that focused on flowers.

I found this article in a Flea Market Gardens magazine
that showed some everyday items repurposed as flower containers.
OK, that's easy, so here goes...

My Knockout Rose bush has gone bananas this year. I usually have it cut back a bit in the early Spring, because it's planted in a smallish area where my bird bath resides. This year it warmed up so quick I didn't get a chance to prune because of small buds already appearing in March.

I grabbed a vintage salt shaker and used it to hold
a few flowers that I cut over the weekend for a bouquet.

Love that early morning light coming into the sunporch.

I had fun playing in Picasa with these photos after I read this great post by Jeanne from Bees Knees Bungalow, where she shared these adorable edited photos of her darling daughter.

Hope you'll head over to Debbie's to check out all the fun
Copy Cat Inspiration

And be sure and come back tomorrow
to join in for Vintage Inspiration, where we link up
"anything vintage or vintage inspired".

Have a great Wednesday!

What's new on the sideboard...

I've been guilty...
yes, guilty ...
of ignoring my sideboard!

I hadn't touched a thing on it since March,
when I updated it just a "hare"/hair for Easter.
(sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

I like to bring out my floral Mandeville and King Seed Box
this time of year and do it up right.

My sideboard is in my main hall right off the kitchen...
next to the stairway to the lower level.
It's impossible to get a good shot of it
without hanging like a monkey from a chandelier.

tight space.
just ask my son-in-law who reminds me each time he's here
and unloading suitcases and French Bulldogs.
(just jabbing you a little, Keith)

too bad.
love my sideboard being here.
my husband knows NOT to complain.

(I better be sweet or there'll be no Coldwater Creek gift card this year for Mother's Day)

And since Mother's Day will be here next month
I added one of my sweet framed greetings from 1939.

and a vintage flower book from 1945 with some seed packets.

McSquirrel is residing in the metal conservatory/lantern.

so...let's see how long this new ivy lasts...

I love this teensy woven basket...

just perfect for a little birdie

(everything here except the lantern were flea market finds)

so much better!

I'll be hanging out at these get-togethers:

Monday Marketplace #9

Hello out there!
Hope you had a good weekend. Time for Monday Marketplace, the link party where you can share some of your wonderful Etsy and Online Boutique items that you have for sale.

If you don't get a chance to check out some of these Etsy Shops you're really missing out. There are some talented shop owners out here and tons of great items that don't make it to the list. It's so much fun going thru these links! So, from last week, here are a few that caught my eye:

There are a lot of us pillow addicts out here,
Here's another one to put on your must have list!
Home Dictionary Pillow from Tracey at RaggyGirl

You're going to want to check out this Etsy Shop, PrimpJunktion, from our friend Michele at Primp. She has some wonderful things, and her photos are magazine worthy.

I'm in love this wonderful Black Vintage BeJeweled Belt Buckle
from Rhonda at Blue Creek Home

from Angie at Swede13

with a yummy Paisley lining from TallGrassDesign

from Anne at White Lace Farmhouse
(so many ways to use this great piece!)

I also wanted to mention that I still have quite a few brass numbered tags. I can incorporate them into a group pendant, or I can sell them individually on a silver ball chain as a necklace. These are great to commemorate birth date years or anniversary dates.  Email me if you have questions. Just label the email as "TAG". I DO still have the #99 which isn't shown here.

Examples of pendant necklaces. You can custom design one yourself.

OK, so now's the time to come link up your Etsy Shop and Online Boutiques. This party is for linking items that are for sale only. Please link to the individual item if possible. Share with us up to 3 of your items, and I've left enough room for you to add your blog name too if you'd like. Please be a follower of this blog Common Ground, and grab the button on the sidebar for somewhere on your blog, so that we can let people know where you're selling. Thanks everyone for coming by to share the "good stuff"! And if you don't sell, well then just come to the shopping party! Have fun!

Remember, this link party is up all week,
so stop back by to see what's been added.

xoxo,
