Sweet Spring Bookends

I've had these oh-so-sweet little vintage chalk bookends for the last 5 years or so, and even though I've photographed them before, for some reason they've just never made it into a blog post.

I was smitten with the little children's faces that reminded me of vintage Hummel characters. I imagine they are from the 40's by the look of their sticker on the bottom, and the fact that they are chalk and maybe plaster of Paris. (and that means so very easily chipped)

The little girl appears to be very shy, and she's holding a basket of baby chicks.

While the little boy is snuggling  a load of bunnies.

Aren't they just adorable?

I have them downstairs in my shabby seating area.
(say that fast 3 times)

And I have to tell you, I've fallen in love with Pic MonkeyIt's everything (well almost everything) that we found in Picnik, and hopefully they will expand once they can. I was able to do the little banner with the text on it (the first photo) there and watermark my photo. Super easy! You'll find the ability to do the transparent banner  under the header of "overlays" then to "geometric shapes". Much easier to navigate than any other photo editing site. yay!!

I'm joining these fun parties this week:

TableTop Tuesday at A Stroll thru Life
White Wednesday at Faded Charm
Share the Love Wednesday at Very Merry Vintage Style
What's It Wednesday at Ivy and Elephants
Primp Your Stuff
Wow Us Wednesday at Savvy Southern Style

Hope to see you back here Thursday for

Monday Marketplace #6 and a Winner

Hard to believe Easter is this week. Are you ready? Even though I don't have little ones to plan a basket for, I have a bunch of big kids that love their sugar free Easter candy, so that's on my list for the week. I want to  try to find some flowers and get started with my containers on the deck. Plus I feel a sunporch quilt swap coming, so that's on my agenda too.

OK, so let's get this Monday morning rollin' with some links from last week.

from Kathy's Expressive Creations

from Sweet Harvest Farm

from Rosekraft

from Rusty and Redone

from Tattered Goods

Hope you'll come link up your Etsy and Online Boutique items
and then spread the word by sharing the button somewhere on your blog.
Please try to link to the individual item, not just the store.
(Feel free to link up to three items)

Then I hope you'll shop around and see what's out here.
This link stays up all week, so come back and check out who's joined in.

And remember to come link up this Thursday for our
Vintage Inspiration Easter Decor Party

Looking Thru Plaid Colored Glasses

I've never known a time in my life
when I wasn't in love with plaid...
(ahhh...always and forever)

and because it is ageless and always in style
I use it as an accent all over my home.

Small accessories such as candy and shortbread tins,

lot's of these snuggly blankets that I've collected,

They mostly hang out on my sunporch in the cooler months

Love them for the Christmas Season

so do my kitty girls;
nothing like curling up in a warm blanket on a chilly afternoon.

lots of fun vintage accent goodies

(ohmygosh, I love my old traincase!)

My sis made these wonderful pillows for me this last Christmas

adding to the "plaid-fest" that I had going on in my Dining Room

Once upon a time
I've been known to sport some of these...

and a few (OK...several) decades ago one of these...

which now I would be happy looking like this.

Currently you'll find me slightly obsessed over this particular plaid...

But if you ever doubt my love for plaid
then you just have to see this,
and know that my wedding was...

it's coming...

yes...

it was...

PLAID!!!

uh huh... a Christmas wedding
a long.time.ago...

All my bridesmaids,
tablesettings,
ribbons and bows.
And if they would have had plaid cumberbuns for the guys
they would have worn them..
oh yes...they would have!

I'm joining in with the blog hop going on now over at
for

Can't get too much of the stuff!!
