Vintage Inspiration Friday #32

(This post is from the Spring, but I love doing Magazine Inspired projects,
if you're new here, I hope you'll click on new posts!
xoxo Debra)
It seems like I've been all about flowers and floral arrangements lately.
I guess that's what "Spring" does to me...
I just love to incorporate the colors of nature back into life.
pinks, yellows, lavenders...
and of course green.
And combine that with Easter coming up,
then I want an extravaganza of blooming beauty.

The watering can and umbrella are both hanging,
but I put together one of my watering cans with some faux silks
and have it setting in my sunroom so I can enjoy the view.

My love for lambs and sheep is showing here
with this precious little children's book,
Little Lamb's Hat

Don't you love the eyebrows on this little guy?
(do bunnies have eyebrows?)

Each season I love to change out my sunroom quilts and decor.
Last year I found this wonderful old quilt with all the colors of Spring,

More Sunroom next week!

And here are a few entries from last week!

whoops!

My blog post "publisher" seems to have a mind of it's own. It keeps "publishing" whenever it wants to. OK, maybe it's error on my part, but I can't seem to figure it out. So to save it for tomorrow, I'm just posting a little photo of my sunroom to give up a hint of tomorrow's Vintage Inspiration Post. Sorry for the confusion of late. This is the second time to jump the gun in two days!

Anyone else having this problem?

OK, see ya tomorrow!

love ya,
even tho I'm ditzy,
Debra

My Little Treasure

I wanted to do a special post today to celebrate
Rhonda's new Thursday Party,
at Blue Creek Home.

So I thought I'd show you one of my favorite "treasures".

I found her a few years ago at a dusty antique store
(I think she still has some of that dust on her!)

she is a bust, but the base portion had been broken,
so she couldn't stand alone.

She stayed in a basket in my studio closet for quite awhile
until I thought of putting her in this concrete urn in my Living Room.

Now I get to see her everyday
and enjoy the peaceful calm look on her sweet face.

We all may have some problems with "cracks and missing pieces",
but our peace comes from inside.
and I'll give God the Glory for that!

Linking up with these wonderful ladies:

See you Thursday afternoon here for

love,
Debra

World War III

Take a look at these two cuties.
yes, there are two of them.

They are 6 year old sisters from the same litter.

Good buds...

until a few weeks ago.
Then World War III broke out.
They are very territorial and jealous.

What can I say...
I'm just irresistible.

anyhoo, lately they have been fighting,
And I don't just mean "fighting"
but all out war.

Growling, hissing, chasing.
Now envision
the cartoon version of two
Tasmanian devils going at it...

in the house...
on the bed...
in my lap...

OK, so I took one of the little sweethearts to the vet...
no illness,
just bad attitudes all around.
The Vet says this happens in the Spring,
among female house cats.

So a bottle of kitty anti-anxiety pills,
and a diffuser full of of happy pheromones,
which has now replaced my
Bath and Body Works verbena variety.

Then to top it off, a "good behavior" collar for each.

All joking aside,
if you have more than one cat and there are problems
such as fighting or "inappropriate potty places"
then you might check into this.

The vet said that usually stress is the result
of urinary tract infections in cats and kittens.

Glad that hadn't started yet...

Now I'm off to see if I can find a collar that might fit me...

and back to the original programming...

Spring in the Cupboard

Spring has Sprung in my Holiday Cupboard.
I call it my "holiday cupboard" because it always gets
decorated with whatever season and holiday is close by.

I found it several years ago at an antique mall.
The two pieces hadn't been made to go together,
but they got married and are living "happily ever after"
in my lower level sitting area.

This is a small tool box with the best green patina around.
I still had some of my green out from St. Patty's Day,
and since Spring is all about green,
it just stayed around.

Several years ago I couldn't find a seed box with flower graphics,
so I found a suitable box and made my own
with old sheet music and Burpee Seed advertisement graphics.
Now it stays here in the cupboard and holds all sorts of odds and ends.

My bunny "Mr. and Mrs." are here.

Old Japan teapots, sugars and creamers are a real favorite of mine.
You see them sprinkled around the sunroom, mostly.

Old sugar shaker, that was my paternal grandmother's
and some other vintage green shakers.
(who says they have to match?)

...and most of you know how much I love my lambs!

...and painted white suitcases stacked on top.
(just painted them with interior wall paint)

Hope you're enjoying Spring Decorating.
I'm linking up with Shelia for her
Heart of the Home Party
"Favorite Cupboards"

and these other great parties.
come by for a visit if you have time.

Hope to see you Thursday afternoon
to start the party for

Have a great week!
(good grief, it was a record breaking 86 here on Sunday)
too hot, too soon, for me!

love you all,
Debra
