Wicker Wonderland

Over the summer we redid a couple of our lower level family room areas.
We exchanged the office area of my husband's
and a sitting area where I have my white wicker.

I debated whether or not to show this right now,
because...well...it's really not where I want it to be.

White wicker has always been  a compulsion of mine
and a point of contention between my husband and I.
I can't resist it...
He doesn't like having to fall over it in the garage.

I've had these white wicker pieces for several years
and I have had a few other pieces that were...
yes... gathering dust in the garage.

So when we rearranged the basement
I found that my hoarding instinct had been right after all.

A few other pieces were right for the re-do.
My gallon of off white Behr paint
made some magic with a library/dining table
and a round repurposed pedestal table turned coffee table.

I haven't finished some feed sack pillows that I have been trying to put together,
and the wall behind the sofa looks sort of bare.
I want to add an architectural piece, a mirror...something,
just not sure yet.

We've really enjoyed having this area,
we seem to gravitate there for coffee and conversation.

I found this great grain sack table runner from Lidy at Frenchgarden House.

And check out this miniature wheelbarrow that's holding
pumpkins and squash,
and some tiny gardening tools.

So this may be seeing some more change
as the weather gets cooler and I have time for a few more projects.
And I've learned something in all this...
use it or lose it!

I'm linking up with

Kathleen for White Wednesday

Hope everyone is having a great week!

love y'all,
Debra

Vintage Inspiration Friday #5

Since Fall is my favorite time of the year,
and since October is my favorite month of the year...
I want to invite you to a Party.
OK, two parties!!

Vintage Inspiration Friday
is the perfect time to host a party with a Fall theme.

Grab those pumpkins and mums,
dig up the ghosties and goblins if you dare...
find the candles and Fall delights.

So on Friday October 8,
let's all show our front porches
decorated for Fall and Halloween.

From Fall to Frightful!

And then on October 29
let's put together a fun
Fall or Halloween table.
Inside or Outside,
Have fun and go all out!!

Even though this is a theme,
please join in even if you're not doing the porch or table.
Whatever Vintage Inspiration you may have is welcomed.
I just thought this would be fun to theme this month of October.

Did I ever tell you...
I just LOVE FALL!! ?

THOUGHT SO...

PUT A NOTE ON YOUR CALENDAR AND
 GRAB THE BUTTON
ON MY SIDEBAR...
THEN JOIN THE FUN!

Oh, and not to forget,
Shannon from A Southern Belle With Northern Roots
has won the September give away for all party participants!

I'll share a new Give-Away for October, next week.

love ya,
Debra

A little Fall color for a change...

Small changes in the Living Room have brought in the Fall color.
This is such a traditional and formal room that I try to just "tweak" it,
more than completely "re-doing" it.

My Pottery Barn urn that held large conch and nautilus shells on the coffee table
during the summer, has found a fat Cinderella pumpkin for the season.

Fall leaves, potpourri, and stone pumpkins now sit on my French inspired tray.

Along with a Lefton Chipmunk, some silver and vintage rhinestone jewelry.

My mantle doesn't see a lot of change, just Autumn bouquets
and a bittersweet wreath to replace the Summer colors.

My mantle isn't very deep, so when I happened to find these "half urns" at Goodwill last Spring I was really excited. They fit perfectly and then I just change out the florals for the season.

A recent addition to the Living Room is a wonderful handpainted piece of art by Dore, from Burlap Luxe. If you haven't met Dore, please go visit her gorgeous blog. She's a beautiful girl, inside and out, and has recently been shown in Romantic Homes Magazine. While you're there visit her Etsy Store, filled with other pieces of her art.

I'm linking with Marty today for Table Top Tuesday

And Kathleen from Faded Charm for White Wednesday.

Please go by and visit the other beautiful blogs for these parties.

Hope you're having a great week,
I'm trying to get back to the routine, after last week.
It was wonderful getting to see family all together,
even though it was a sad occasion.

hugs and blessings to you all,
Debra
