Hi friends, last post I shared a fun garden-y spring vignette in a vintage birdcage. I love using moss, plants, twigs and blooming branches especially in springtime. I styled it in front of the Holiday Cupboard on the chippy stepstool and now I'm sharing my springtime coffee table with more old rusty garden charm.

Early Fall Door Basket and Front Porch
Last week I shared my 5 Quick and Easy Ideas to Get in the Mood for Fall . I added a bonus tip and that was to do a mini refresh on the front door with a basket or wreath that bridges the gap between summer and fall.

Out and About at the Vintage Market
Hi Friends, today I'm taking you with me to my fave vintage market
in the area for a late spring /early summer visit.
You all know I definitely have a soft spot for wheelbarrows, carts, and wagons, etc. Anything with wheels and preferable could fit on top of a table or cabinet for display... So here's a wonderful vintage piece from my friends Sara and Abby at Sweet Magnolia's Farm here at The Vintage Peddler in Springfield. It's my go-to vintage market for a quick get-away that gives me a much needed boost of inspiration and fun seasonal ideas.

Summery Looks in the Garden Room
The end of July has me thinking about mid-Summer but with a decided shift toward winding down and bringing out a bit darker, deeper, harvest colors. Golds and darker greens and a few browns start showing up with some sunflower vibes. Out in the Garden Room I've changed up the wicker seating area to include some golds, black and white Buffalo Check, and of course my always current ticking stripes.

Late Summer Seed Box
August will be here before we know it, and with August my decor palette changes with the season. I start thinking about the beginning of Fall and all the subtle color that comes with it, but for now I'm still in Summer Mode. Today I'm sharing a staple of my vintage Summer decor.

Summer Seed Box
...and the Decorating Domino Effect
A few weeks ago, I brought in a small white antique desk/table to the kitchen sitting area. I knew it would be crowded, but I was needing a change up in here and thought that would do the trick. I had it right where this chair is now sitting and it was so fresh and cute, not to mention another flat surface to decorate. I had fun with it for about a week, but then I realized that it was way too crowded in here, and the door to the deck bumped it each time we went out.

Vintage Inspiration # 110
Hi Everyone,
and Welcome to Vintage Inspiration!
We were out of town all last week, so I didn't get to visit many of you, but I had a great time going thru the links picking features this week. Amazing what lies behind those little thumbnail photos that are posted! Here are just a few of the wonderful links from you all last week, that are full of vintage Fall and Halloween inspiration.
Jill from Feathers and Flight is a wonderful artist, and if you haven't met her you will want to check out her blog for her amazing collage and digital work. When I saw this Luna Hanger and Tree of Crows I wanted to share it with you. Thanks Jill, you always inspire me!
Just part of Jill's Halloween decor along with her beautiful mantel.
You have to take a peek at this Vintage Spooky Dolly and Carriage and then read the backstory of these family treasures from Tracey at Crow's Feet Chic
Cathy has the most "Charming" cottage, and just take a look at her front porch decorated for Autumn at My 1929 Charmer . The white wicker and plaid blankets are just my cup of tea!
What a great way to decorate your garden gate; a fun rustic rake head with Indian Corn from Linda at It All Started with Paint.
And Missy from Junkfest
worked a miracle on these wonderful chairs
using vintage burlap coffee sacks...so cool!
Hope you'll join in today for the party,
"Anything vintage or vintage inspired"

Magazine Copy Cat Challenge
You know I love a good challenge...
and magazine inspiration is at the top of my list.
Debbie from Debbiedoos Blogging and Blabbing
is hosting a magazine copy cat challenge.
Julie from Idyllhours reminded me last week
that I had this old rake that I had found a few years ago.
It's been around for a few leaf seasons and I actually use it when I have to.
I had a few twigs of bittersweet left
and a little faux cedar from a Christmas branch.
my original attempt was too sparse,
so I added in some Fall leaves to help out.
sorta blah...
So here it is,
and I think for Christmas I'll just take out the bittersweet and leaves,
then add more evergreens with red berries and holly.
This is where it ended up.
Love the way the light shines through the leaves.
Now run by Debbie's Party and see the rest of the fun!
I'm also joining in on these parties:

Vintage Inspiration Friday #61 Halloween Nostalgia
As a child Halloween was always special, as it was my paternal grandmother's birthday. She always had homemade caramel corn balls (anyone still make these?) and a chocolate cake. Funny the things that are embedded in our minds and hearts from our childhood. I remember spending hours in my grandparents' "walk-in" attic; full of books, games, and Holiday decorations from when my dad was young in the 30's.
After all these years, the 20's and 30's are my favorite era for graphics.
Here are some vintage Halloween postcard images found on Google.
They are so hard to find now, and go for more than a few dollars.
And some great vintage photos of Halloween revelers.
I remember the year that I was probably in 3rd. grade that my mom and dad thought it would be funny to dress me up like the "Frito Bandito". Anyone out there remember that piece of history? Mom drew a skinny mustache on me with eyebrow pencil. A serape and sombrero from a trip to Mexico finished the ensemble. I was humiliated but they laughed their socks off. Ha ha, I wanted to be a princess!
(Update!!! OK, I went back to Wikipedia, and it seems that the Frito Bandito didn't make it on the scene until 1967. I was older than 3rd grade in 1967. Clearly my sick parents were ahead of their time with this sad incident. I suppose in hindsight it was referred to as the FB Outfit!!)
Wish I had photos from that party!
I know most of us have wonderful memories from our childhood about Halloween. So I celebrate the nostalgia and memories. Laura from Decor to Adore wrote a wonderful post that so resonates with my thoughts on Halloween. Hope you'll read it when you leave here.
So let's see what was going on last week.
Sorry I didn't get by to visit, but as you probably know,
we were visiting our kids in St. Louis.
Theresa "Easy Peasy" Hein from 612 Riverside
really inspired me with her great Jack-O-Lantern scarecrows.
My sweet friend Julie from Idyllhours
adorned an old rake for her porch decor.
(she wanted a broom, but settled for the rake!)
Sue from Sullivan and Murphy put together a wonderful Fall display
with a demijohn that is fantastic.
Rita from MayDays creates a gorgeous buffet display
with her silver and natural elements.
My good friend Rebecca Ersfeld invites us in to visit,
and see all her creations for the upcoming Holidays.
Try to visit her online shop for some wonderful goodies.
And Aimee from It's Overflowing
transformed her rancher chandy into a thing of blingy beauty!
Thanks everyone, hope you'll link up to the party,
"Anything vintage or vintage inspired"
and all your Fall Decor.
I'm linking with these party gals:
