Hello Friends and Welcome to the Lifestyle of Love bimonthly gathering where we share how we use vintage items in our décor. This month we have a fun topic of "Breadboards". These workhorse kitchen items of the past used to be plentiful at garage sales and flea markets but recently are becoming harder and harder to find. And those you can find have crazy high prices. So I'm sharing some old ones, some new ones, and reproduction pieces.

How to Use Baskets and Crates in Vintage Decor
Hi Friends, I'm excited today to be joining in on a Hop with a great group of talented gals created by Cindy from County Road 407. She's put together this fun gathering for those of us that are lovers of farmhouse and vintage decor. This month we're sharing our ideas for using baskets and crates in our vintage decor, vignettes and hopefully gaining some much needed storage.
If you're coming from visiting our friend Amber
at Follow the Yellow Brick Home welcome, I'm so glad that you are here.
Thank you Cindy for such a fun gathering!

She Collects (Vintage) Seashells
This time of year, late July, I get that little nudge to play with some Seashell Decor. There's a short window of opportunity to do shell decor around here. Early Summer is filled with garden fun, then comes the Patriotic decor. Now's the time before "Pre Fall" starts. So I put together a little vignette on an antique tray in the Dining Room. It's not really "beachy", but more "vintage".

A Simple Centerpiece for the Garden Room
It's been fun seeing the shrubs, plants and flowers that have emerged here at the new place this Spring and Summer. Mid Spring, I was so excited to see a row of Forsythia at the back of the property line, and even though they were pruned to within an inch of their lives they are now becoming full and giving us a little more privacy.

A First Look at the Casual Dining Area
Next week is our final move of furniture, and officially we will "move in" and take up residence. We will still have things to go back and pack up at the old house, but our master bedroom furniture, big TV and the rest of the Living Room furniture will be at the new house. Unless we want to camp out on the floor, we'll make the leap to get there!
Last post I shared how the Hearth Room is coming along and a glimpse of the eating area in the sunroom. All the chairs to this table set aren't here yet, since we're still using 3 of them at the old house. But as I said earlier, I think I have the main pieces out here. The extra little tables and smaller decor are subject to change, though. The corners are hard to decorate out here because of having to be able to reach the blind adjustments, so that's the reason for the larger cupboards having to be placed in front of the windows.

A Vintage Romance
Hard to believe that it's actually February.
I thought I just brought out the new calendar.
It looks like one more holiday will be here with no chance to decorate either house. Nothing like having 2 houses and both of them not in a place that I could put anything other than a bouquet or a box of chocolates. Which by the way, either of those would be fine with me. So instead I'm sharing some past photos for a little Valentine inspiration.

Sharin' O' the Green
Happy St. Patty's Day to all of you! I imagine that many of us here in the U.S. have a smidge of Irish in us. I like to think so, maybe for just today. I have always enjoyed pulling a few green things together to celebrate the Holiday. So I thought I'd share these images with you for a wee bit of Irish fun and hopefully a proper Irish Blessing!
