Snowy White Churches on the Old Sideboard

If you all remember, the sideboard was one of those family pieces that lived in the basement the last several houses we've had. I had a few pieces that I wouldn't /couldn't part with that had been handed down for at least a generation or so. I loved them, but just didn't have a spot for them in the main living areas. The sideboard was from my grandmother's home and is from the late 1800's. It was black with old varnish at that point, then we refurbished it in the late 70's and it stayed with a sealing oil finish until we moved here 3 years ago. Since I painted it white with ASCP I've fallen in love with it all over again.

Kitchen China Cupboard for Christmas

I think most of us are pretty well into the decorating.
As I've mentioned, the bigger things are finished,
now it's time to "play".

One of the areas that's fun for me is in the Kitchen.
I can go a little crazy with the vintage Putz Houses and Churches.
Since I didn't put up a big tree,
I'm using a few vintage Shiny Brites here and there.
The Transferware misfits were begging for some "sprucing up".
(I guess that qualifies for a Christmas pun, tehe)

Christmas in the Cupboard

With just a week left before Christmas, I still have a few things around the house that I've wanted to share with you. My Holiday Cupboard went all white this year, as I sorted through my putz houses and churches. I  was going to do just white ironstone and a few new (to me) pieces of red transferware, but each time I thought about it, I knew my little churches needed to come back out.

just a little wonky steeple.

I love these guys, he looks like he has on a "stache", te he.

Print of a church from England from an old book plate.

I hope they're not head butting!

Most of my little churches are old, but a few are new, and then some are made to hold candles inside. Pretty much a mish mash, but I love them.

This print from the 40's makes me long for the more simpler times in life; bundled up, walking to the country church.

Looks like my helper is fancying a little "Christmas Goose"!
