The end of July signals a change in the atmosphere for me. I'm one of those people that while I enjoy summer, I don't enjoy the heat and I have always looked forward to the slow slide to early fall. Don't get me wrong, summer has beautiful memories and moments, but the promise of more moderate temps of autumn pull me along.

Summer Holiday Cupboard with Patriotic Flair
When June comes around I gather my vintage dishes and a few elements that are red/white/blue and restyle my old pie safe cupboard. A few pieces of red transferware mix it up with my French faience pottery dishes. Then when I start decorating for July 4th holiday I just add in some small memorial flags. Presto, instant Patriotic décor.

"Before it's Fall" Holiday Cupboard with Majolica
As August heads into the last weeks, so Summer is also winding down. We may still be having temps in the 80's and 90's but I'm starting to make a change over to more Fall colors, themes and textures throughout the house. I won't be full-on Fall for a few weeks, but this is a fun time to start slowly switching a few things up with a Harvest palette and a few nature sensitive florals and that could mean a small discreet pumpkin hiding here or there.

Late Summer Baker's Rack
Hello friends! Has the "Late Summer/Early Fall" bug bitten you yet? It comes after me each year starting in the last week in July. August is the time that I start getting that itch to bring out a few seasonal colors, that look to the "harvesty" hues of golds, dark greens, oranges, deep reds, and browns.

Flags and Teapots in the Patriotic Holiday Cupboard
Hi Friends, wow, it's so hard to believe that the July 4th holiday is just around the corner! Are you getting into the Summer groove? A few weeks ago I brought out my traditionally summer French Faience and exchanged the Green Transferware in the Holiday Cupboard here in the Garden Room.

Patriotic Holiday Cupboard
Hello friends, I'm ready for a little patriotic flare around here.
I've really missed getting to go to the fleas and antique malls,
where you're sure to get a big helping of the RED/ WHITE /BLUE!
So I'm going to dish up a little of my own.
