Plaid Greetings from the Christmas Baker's Rack
Hi Friends, the combination of Thanksgiving weekend and decorating for Christmas can be a lot of work, as you are probably experiencing right about now. I had a lot of things out and felt like I had a plan, but the more I puttered, the more I needed to do. Is that a sign of age...? Maybe just someone has too much fun Christmas stuff. But I've always been one to "decorate" up until December 24, no matter what, so I guess that explains it.

Holiday Leftovers in the Cookbook Cupboard
No matter the holiday I always seem so have stray bits and pieces of rooms and vignettes that get left behind. Big holidays are usually the ones where I take tons of pictures, then run out of time. This year there are a few Christmas leftovers still to share. Since I like to keep a visual diary of my decorating year to year, I didn't want to leave them. Especially when a few cute birdies were out in the Garden Room.

Wrapping Up December at All About Home #176
Hello Friends and Welcome to the
All About Home Link Party!
Hello All, I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. We had our older daughter and her fiance stay, and we had a low-key Christmas Eve and Day. Our younger daughter and husband and the new baby stayed in because of the weather and high viral rate of RSV and flu in our area. Our older daughter and I made a quick visit on Christmas Eve to take presents and for Erin to get to see her. We masked up and stayed just a short while. We have lots of Christmases ahead, and want her to stay well.
Thankyou all so much for taking the time to come by out of your busy holiday schedules and link up all your fun holiday ideas, recipes and DIYs. Amber and I are so thankful and grateful for each and every one of you!!!

French Country Christmas Dining Room Part 2
Hello Friends, I'm back today with Part 2 of the Christmas Dining Room. Since I have so much color in the rest of the house, with a lot of Tartan Plaid, I like to lean toward a more neutral color scheme and a French Country vibe in this space.

Weekend Inspiration: What's Your Favorite Christmas Style?
Today I'm sharing a post from back in 2016 that is one of my all-time most read. I thought I might "refurbish" the content, but instead just added to it a bit to include "Cottage" style which has emerged this last few years. If it feels a little dated, decor trends have shifted and redefined themselves this last couple of years. You might even find some "new to you" blogs from the last decade. I thought it would be fun just to take a quick look at some of the different "Styles of Christmas".

Christmas is Here at All About Home #123
Hello friends and Welcome
to the All About Home Link Party!
I can hardly believe Christmas is this week. Are you ready? I still have a few things to do, but I'm so looking forward to spending a little time with our family. Last year was not one I ever want to repeat. So I hope this year it will be a little more "normal" and that you're going to have time with your family.

A Very Merry Christmas in the Holiday Cupboard
Hello there friends. I know you all are feeling it too, just one week till Christmas and it seems I don't have everything accomplished that I've wanted to do. I still have a few pics to share from around the house. Here we are in the Garden Room where the Holiday Cupboard is my fun spot to decorate. So I'm squeezing it in with a few more posts around the house next week.

Vintage Christmas Home Tour
Hello Friends, today I'm super excited to be part of a wonderful Christmas Tour of Homes with a bit of a twist. Our good friend Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home has put together a great group of bloggers to share how we decorate our homes for Christmas with vintage pieces and decor. Some of us are fortunate enough to live in historic homes, and others of us just love antiques and vintage furniture that we use to give our spaces a vintage vibe.

It's a Merry Little Christmas in the Kitchen
Hello Everyone, it's time for my annual Kitchen post. I know... It's terrible that I don't get around to sharing my kitchen more often. I don't decorate much here in the kitchen, (because the rest of the house is always done up) and it seems that it's always in use. But Hey, it's Christmastime and there are a few fun Christmas goodies hanging around this time of year.

Snowy White Churches on the Old Sideboard
If you all remember, the sideboard was one of those family pieces that lived in the basement the last several houses we've had. I had a few pieces that I wouldn't /couldn't part with that had been handed down for at least a generation or so. I loved them, but just didn't have a spot for them in the main living areas. The sideboard was from my grandmother's home and is from the late 1800's. It was black with old varnish at that point, then we refurbished it in the late 70's and it stayed with a sealing oil finish until we moved here 3 years ago. Since I painted it white with ASCP I've fallen in love with it all over again.
