My Father Christmas seems to think of this French goat cart as home each Christmas. He ends up here because after 40 years he has a bad back and needs some support. (can any of us relate?) It can't be seen from here but this year he's sitting in my old Tartan Plaid train case.
This is a really poor pic because I took it in the evening and hopefully I can get a better shot in daylight. When I saw that old luggage about 15 years ago I just had to have it, and honestly I've never seen another one like it... not even suitcases. It was a one in a million find! It's perfect for the Christmas season.
When I opened up the train case you can guess what I found. A bevy of adorable stuffed squirrels and a chipmunk that I didn't even know I'd stored there. Somehow they seemed to match my "woodland" Christmas theme, so they joined in with Santa.

From this angle it looks like the tree is leaning but it's not, just the camera lens. Sorry, just tilt your head to the side a bit. haha.
I took this pic when I first set this up and at that time I had the wood cut out snowman here. Not sure why he was moved, but the tree hadn't been decorated either. As you can tell from all my decorating it's a continuous "work in progress".
Thanks for coming by. I hope you're enjoying your first week of December.

Oh, I love the ornaments on this tree, Debra! I totally get your progression of decorating too. I did the same when I first started with my tablescape. I almost decided this was the year of a naked tree (the main one), but in the end all my friends were unwrapped and hung. I love the plaid train case filled with your Santa and friends, and haven't seen a case like that either. I have a small vignette of woodland Santa and friends, and hope to grow it a bit using mostly features (easy to stuff and store, lol)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing at seeing our stash of ornaments that make them call out to be used on the tree. Hard to resist those adorable little treasures. The rabbit and deer get me every time!
DeleteWhat a handsome Father Christmas. Your mother was clearly a talented artist and I am so glad you have one of her creations. It is a treasure. I love how it is displayed. (And that luggage is fabulous!) Happy December! (LOVE the woodland ornaments!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, my mom is so very talented. She's made so many wonderful pieces over the years. She has the patience that I don't to see a large project through!
DeleteI love your Father Christmas. He is so unique and beautifully dressed. Love your woodland theme. Have a good new week Debra. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris, hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
DeleteI love a woodland theme Debra. And your styling is on point as always. We have a small flocked tree in the family room and I decorated it in a woodland theme. Love that Santa, your mom is super talented. And then train case is everything! Happy holiday season. XO- MaryJo
