St. Patrick's Day Seed Box Vignette

Hi Friends, so glad you came by for some extra special St. Patrick's Day inspiration! Today I'm joining a super fun group of gals sharing some amazing Tablescapes, Vignettes, Crafts, and Irish Heritage posts celebrating "All things St. Patrick's Day."

Our special hostess today is Debbee from Debbeez Buzz, who has a real affinity for Ireland. Thankyou Debbee for putting together this fun group full of inspiration and creativity. If you're coming from Debbee'z thanks so much for following the Hop!!

When Debbee contacted me about joining the group I asked if this was only tablescapes, because I didn't know if I would have all the elements to do a St. Patrick's Day table justice. She assured me this was open to any post celebrating St. Patrick's Day, so I thought I would do the next best thing and just share some of my vintage green transferware and ivy dishes.

I thought it would be appropriate for Spring to use one of my antique Mandeville Seed Boxes, where I could style the dishes with a Spring Garden theme. So my mix of dishes is joined by vintage flowerpots, garden books, seed packets, and a few vintage St. Patrick's Day postcards.

My vintage white metal garden gate is the backdrop behind my antique desk in the Garden Room, where I have the seed box set up. Vintage Garden goods are some of my favorite elements that brought me to buying and selling antique and vintage goods years ago.

A faux bird nest snuggled into a french-y painted clay pot, joins vintage Spring tea towels, garden gloves, and a mossy shamrock for the display.

A faux hyacinth stem and bloom with bulb attached, and a vintage green garden hand tool bring more to the garden theme.

I've found a few vintage garden books and this perfectly hued green one is one of my favorites; Garden Stories from 1933.

Most of my transferware, including the green, is mix and match pieces I've picked up at flea markets and vintage markets over the years.

The Ivy Pottery is Harker Pottery Royal Gadroon and
The Green Transferware is Enoch Wedgewood England Kent.

Last week I shared this antique Chocolate Pot that my mom handed down to me, several years ago. This early Spring season, it's dividing it's time between this display and the St. Patrick's Day Holiday Cupboard.

This generous cup is from Adams MiCratex Stoneware from England,
part of the Cries of London series.

And for me, sheep are part of the Irish landscape. Whether it's in a lush green pasture, within a tablescape, or in a vignette, sheep are part of Ireland's quaint mystique.

Next to my tabletop vignette, my goat cart is filled with yellow tulips and daffodils, with a church birdhouse.

You can see more St. Patrick's Day dish dΓ©cor in the Holiday Cupboard, Here.

Thanks so much for coming by. We hope you'll continue the Hop and head on over to the Cat's Whiskerz and see her lovely St. Patrick's Day table. You can join me on Instagram Here and Pinterest Here.

Here We Go, Enjoy the Inspiration!

  1. so pretty Debra.....I have to dig out one of my seed boxes...I love to decorate them and you have done a splendid job of decorating yours for Spring Your Mother's antique chocolate pot is lovely, as is the church vignette. Thanks for joining out little blog hop group. Happy St. Patrick's day! Kari @ Me and My Captain.

  2. Green with envy over your vintage Irish inspired elements Debra! Especially love that postcard. And, how fabulous to have the chocolate pot handed down from your mom! You are such a talented stylist with an amazing assortment of wonderful pieces! Just love how you put everything together. For years, I've been looking for vintage sheep figures in shops and markets but have come up empty. I'd like to discover one instead of purchasing it online. Love the thrill of the hunt lol! When we were in Ireland, Scotland and the Cotswolds of England, sheep were everywhere! In Iceland, they outnumber people 10 to 1! Wonderful to have you join the hop Debra, happy St. Patrick's Day.

  3. This is lovely Debra, such a creative mix of elements and I love the garden theme~ the vintage china pieces are perfect. The details, with seed packages, books, pots and the sheep are wonderful and oh that Chocolate Pot is so pretty and special! This vignette radiates your love of vintage pieces and arranging them with such style. The faux hyacinth with the bulb is my favorite part! Happy St. Patrick's Day ☘️

  5. Debra, your draw toward vintage garden items is mine as well. I love your arrangement of vintage goodies, and including the little sheep is, of course, part of the "quaint mystique". How I love how you've described that. And that cup! Polychrome transfers are not easy to find, it's a beauty. The spring vibe is what I'm all about right now. I was just out in my landscape yesterday, digging up a few already bloomed daffodils which grew out of last year's altered grass lines, and transplanted before the first mowing plowed them down for another year. I've got the itch and needed the scratch! Your vignette works not only for St Patrick's Day but for an entire springtime. It was a pleasure to be in your company on this hop!

  7. This vignette is perfect for St. Patty's Day Debra! I am in love with your antique seed box. I keep eyeing it and wondering if it would be possible to make something like it. The chocolate pot is my favorite, I hang on to anything passed down to me as well. I wish I had the room to collect more dishware since you have so many lovely pieces I have seen over the years, and this display is full of beauties.

  8. Where in the world do you store all of these amazing things? Each piece is so pretty and I think you did a fantastic job of creating the perfect St Patty's Day vignette. The 17th is my daughters birthday and she prefers it to be all about her and pink so I don't actually have anything to create a vignette or tablescape. So excited to have seen your treasures. pinned

The first page was riveting, and now I want to see what Jean does with the bulbs from her old garden! :) Thanks for all the vignette inspiration. So nice hopping with you, and Happy St Patrick's Day!

  13. Debra, I could have sworn that I commented on this previously but it must have gotten lost somewhere, so I'm back again. Your seed box is gorgeous and I love the way you have styled it. Your china is so pretty and the perfect nod to St. Patrick's day with the shamrock in the background. Your sheep is darling! The seed packets, gardening gloves, gardening tools will transition into spring beautifully. Its all lovely! It was so nice to "meet" you and hop with you. Happy St. Patrick's day!

  16. Debra, it sounds so romantic when you talk about the "Garden Room". We know we are in for a treat. I love your vignettes.
One time, many years ago, helping someone move, my sister and I were given an amazing collection of treasures from world travels. I was young and naive, and passed up on the "Chocolate Pots"
