Hello Everyone, are you all ready for Easter? We'll probably have a quiet Sunday around here and just the two of us celebrating at home. I'm so glad you're here today because I'm joining in with a few friends to Celebrate Easter with a fun Hop hosted by my sweet friend Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home. Let's find some fun and inspiration for Spring and enjoy this wonderful time of Easter Week.
If you're coming from Marty's at A Stroll Thru Life , I'm so glad you're here and following along with the Hop. I so appreciate you coming by to visit. Today I wanted to share the Dining Room decorated for Spring and Easter. Each season I seem to challenge myself with trying to find something different for a table centerpiece. I usually have my large metal Italian basket on the table, but this year for Easter I wanted a light and bright basket filled with tulips.
The dining table is big and heavy and dark, so I try to make this space as light and bright as possible. One of the ways I do that is by keeping a wide tablerunner on top. I love to change up the fabric prints throughout the seasons with corresponding color. I went looking for a new floral print for the Spring season a few weeks ago and found this wonderful large flower, brown background print.
I have a little secret about tablerunners... I buy about 3 yards of fabric and fold it in half lengthwise, tucking in the selvedge and ironing it lengthwise. For a large table, that works; just fold over the extra fabric at each end. That's my "no-sew" tablerunner idea for a quick change up. Then if you want to use the fabric later for pillows or actually sew up a tablerunner you can easily do that. or not. I'm not crazy about sewing.
I have a vintage white wicker basket filled with those faux white tulips and my little French-y wagon on top. It's a large table so it can handle a large grouping as a centerpiece. I painted the wagon French Gray a few years ago to make it easier to coordinate with other neutral pieces.
My big handsome guy, Mr. Bunns, is sharing the wagon with one of my ironstone tureens, a vintage bud vase, and a few vintage postcards. He has on a tie of pink polka dot ribbon to liven things up a bit. A piece of sheet moss cut to size makes a good "carpet" for my vignette pieces.
My family washstand and antique mirror get a seasonal refresh several times a year. This year a homemade grapevine and ivy wreath adorn the mirror for some interest. And a few faux daffodils and tulips bring some Spring color.
My little French Girl has a home here on the washstand.
Her base had been broken years ago,
so she's sitting in a concrete antique urn.
My lamb tureen travels around the house, but can usually
be found here for Spring. He's surrounded with a mossy, twiggy wreath.
The buffet has my white doughbowl with another tureen and a few Easter plates and vintage mini pitchers. The little velveteen rabbit is at home on the doughbowl too.
Staffordshire Shepherdess under a cloche.
My little lambs are nestled under a cloche
in a bed of moss.
The antique wire plant stand has two more of my special sheep
and one of the Pottery Barn lanterns with a pastel Easter ribbon.

I love it all. Your dining room is filled with so many wonderful Easter Vignettes. The cart is amazing and I love the gorgeous sheep too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful spring vignette, Debra, and I love your tip about the table runner/fabric too. It's super helpful! All these pops of white feel so peaceful and I love seeing your collections together. Hugs and Happy Easter, CoCo
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your dining room all dressed up for Easter Debra. And your table runner tip is the best idea! I don't know how to sew so I'm definitely going to start doing this. Happy Easter my friend.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous, Debra! I love all your cute bunnies and your beautiful vignettes. By the way, I have the same bunny plate that you have on your sideboard. I displayed it on my bar cart this year. Wishing you a Happy Easter!

Your lambs are so special! I love the tureen and the collection. I also adore that fabric pattern on your runner! Such a great idea for how to make a runner. Your table and everything looks beautiful!! ~ Kristin | White Arrows Home
ReplyDeleteDebra, your home just sings spring! Love all your Easter accents, and that polka-dot ribbon adds so much personality to your rabbit! Have a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would have lots of pretty vignettes to admire, and I truly love to study every one of them. The new table runner looks so pretty and the tall white rabbit is dashing in his polka dot tie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous centerpiece Debra! You have truly inspired me to create something similar. Have a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go shopping with you. You find and have the best stuff and I'm smitten over Mr. Bunns! All of your decor is precious and styled so beautifully. Great idea on the table runners too. I always wondered how you found them so wide! I've done that only once for fall and used the double sided tape. I'm not fond of sewing either so I love that stuff. I blame it on the machine. It's always something with those things and I don't have the patience. Hope your quiet Easter is just how you like it. Maybe you will have lunch out on your nice patio?
ReplyDeleteI love all of your Easter décor!!! I especially love that darling cart on your table!! You have such a beautiful home!! I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!!
ReplyDeleteYou always surprise me with your beautiful vintage treasures and the way just changing a few things around you come up with something that looks totally new! I love that pretty wreath on the mirror and the little lambs picture underneath. The Staffordshire shepherdess is just beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteMr. Bunns is so festive with the cute bow, and he fits right in among your other beautiful French country spring and Easter decor.
Beautiful fabric DIY runner too!

What a fun hop! I love seeing your Easter decor, Debra. I need to pull out my flower frogs and vintage cards and add them somewhere. I didn't put much out this year. Just not in the spirit. I did set a table for Monday Morning Blooms and am working on another table just for fun. Happy Easter!
