Hello to all my Fall lovin' Friends!!!
A few weeks ago my hubby took me to Hobby Lobby to look at Fall goodies. He was a trooper and trudged all over the store with me. I had it in my head to find a wreath for the front door during this early Fall season. I found a twiggy wreath and several floral items to use, but it was still going to cost a fortune. Even with 40% off, the total price of the individual pieces were starting to make me cringe.
I started looking for options and realized that I could just use my gray wicker door basket, out front instead. I opted to go with a partially pre-made wreath base that I could add some other floral filler to, to come up with what I wanted. I loved the elements but it wasn't "full" enough for me.
So I grabbed a few other floral pieces that I could use to embellish the store wreath.
I wanted it to be covered overall and add sunflowers and hydrangeas.
I just used some green floral wire to attach the extra pieces.
The end result is much more of what I was going for,
so I decided I'd just use it in the house.
It's hanging here on the Holiday Cupboard for now.
I also trimmed up a few stray leafy pieces that were hanging down.
I love the warm vibrant colors and it's not a heavy Fall feeling. We won't have a freeze here in SW Missouri till late October or early November, so using the sunflowers and black-eyed susans seemed like a good way to go for now.
I've changed up the wicker settee and coffee table since this,
so they're bringing in a few more fall vibes instead of "late summer".
I also have an early-fall/early-September restyle in the Holiday Cupboard.
I wasn't ready for pumpkins at that point, so it's a homage to late summer hydrangeas.
I'm so excited that the calendar is reading September now.
Hope you're having a great week, friends.

I love your beautiful wreath. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteThe new wreath you embellished is gorgeous. I noticed at HL that their prices were getting higher even with the 40% off. Glad you could make your own wreath with a few embellishments it is very pretty. Have a great rest of the week and holiday weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Debra! Oh, I love what you've done to your wreath! You're way ahead of the Fall game. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love your wreath. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour wreathe is lovely. I love early fall decor-your sunflowers, black-eyed susans and hydrangeas are perfect. I made some fall/Halloween garlands for my booth Friday and still can't believe summer will soon be over (sooner here in Maine!). Maybe I'll get to use some of my stash during a LONG winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice job! I like the softer colors. Wreaths are one of my weaknesses. Sometimes I think I have too many, but that's just nonsense! haha! Welcome to September. We got a lovely bit of rain today.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I was in HL last Saturday and it was sensory overload for me!
ReplyDeleteDebra, you turned that little wreath into a thing of fall beauty. I really love how you did it with the main flowers instead of ribbon for a change. We have an old cupboard in the garage that I wanted to bring into the house but couldn't find room for it, but after seeing yours with the wreath on the front, I think I will try to look a little harder..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteSo interesting reading through this post, I really do enjoy visiting your blog for content such as this. Keep the good work going.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about September too Debra! And wowza, that wreath is aaaahhhhmazing! I love the fuller look too. And where you hung it! Thanks for linking up at FF.
ReplyDeleteYea, fall is on it's way!! I'm excited too! Your wreath has a lovely loose and free feel to it. I love wreaths and floral arrangments that have that look. Pinning!
ReplyDeleteDebra, I love it! Featuring you this week at the TFT party! As always, thank you so far sharing with us!
