Late Summer Farm Table

Hello Friends...
With the last week of August, I'm sharing a few more pics from the Late Summer Garden Room. Earlier in the month I changed up the ice cream bucket with sunflowers and hydrangeas. During the earlier part of the summer I was using white geraniums and the white sunflowers. As Summer progresses I love to see how the hydrangeas change color, so I added some hydrangeas in darker hues to the mix. There have been times I've tried to find an alternate receptacle for flowers, but honestly, that wooden bucket was made for this spot!

I still have the indigo ticking table runner out that I was using earlier in the Summer.
Ticking is my go-to fabric in Summer. It's just a long piece of raw fabric with a length
of grain sack linen underneath.

I restyled the white vintage crate to hold my big Hull Apple cookie jar,
a black tole floral tray, and an antique Majolica pitcher with a bird motif.
Apples are a staple of my Summer decor. The rest of the range set

A few  "gardeny" vintage items always end up in my vignettes,
like clay flower pots, bird nests, peat pots, and twiggy accents.

September and more "Fallish" weather will find a new set
of items on the farm table.

Two sides of the same floral arrangement.
One side is a little more summery than the other...

I also changed up the Holiday Cupboard a bit last week for early September.
So when the Majolica was removed, I used it back on the Baker's Rack.
Often it's spread all around the house, but most of it's here now in one place.

Summertime... even late Summer, calls for some brighter color.
I'm thinking about the Fall restyle this week,
but I really don't want to get ahead of myself.
Honestly, I'm just not ready to be overwhelmed with pumpkins
and massive amounts of leaves when it's 95 degrees outside.
When the calendar flips to September I'll be a bit more ready.
I'm trying not to complain, but I'm really tired of the heat.

This is a post from 2019 when transitioning from Summer to Fall.

  1. Pretty, pretty , pretty...loving all your colors. And, I really think a touch of blue or black is a bit cooling. Not hurrying anything here either, because it is so hot. Heat advisory out for Chicago for at least four more days. Happy Late *(Hades) or Summer! Sandi

  3. Debra, at this point, I think so many of us are just DONE with summer and its heat... Just this morning, there is a breath of cooler air outside here in North Texas. I am sooo grateful as I went about watering! Ready for cooler weather so we can move the fence and get things buttoned up. :)

Anyway, happy to feature your pretty home in this week's Share Your Style #316 for you. <3

    Here's to an early fall,
