Hello friends! Has the "Late Summer/Early Fall" bug bitten you yet? It comes after me each year starting in the last week in July. August is the time that I start getting that itch to bring out a few seasonal colors, that look to the "harvesty" hues of golds, dark greens, oranges, deep reds, and browns.
The rest of the Garden Room has had an early Fall refresh with quilts,
pillows and floral arrangements using the same colors scheme.
In August there is always a liberal use of Sunflowers,
Daisies, and Blackeyed Susans.
I'm using some of my Majolica pieces in the Holiday Cupboard,
and the rest of my hodge podge collection is being used here.
A few bits of black are appearing as accents like in the frame of the French Lamb,
and the hand painted vintage tole tray on the lower shelf.
I'm still using the French faience in the Holiday Cupboard,
but I have the teapot, sugar and creamer here in front of the tray.
Another vintage pitcher is holding some late summer flowers
with black eyed susans, marigolds, and some hydrangeas.
Sunflower tussy mussies dot the decor this time of year.
The quilts and pillows reflect my love of Sunflowers, especially in early Fall.
My little French Garden Girl lamp that I painted white a year or so ago,
stays here on the baker's rack. The wiring is old so I don't leave it on
when I'm not here. Re-wiring it on my list of "Honey-dos".
I also have a few of my bee skeps put out.
I mentioned earlier that I've found a few Sunflower pillow covers on Amazon,
and it's been fun spreading them around the house.
I shared my bench/coffee table and wicker settee in the Garden Room,
with their August colors last week in this post.

ReplyDeletethankyou Kris, same to you, xoxo!!
DeleteYour beautiful baker's rack displays always make me look at mine and say, "Jeanie, you've got to up your game!" It's the only storage in my kitchen and consequently, doesn't always get the pretties. That must change! I love this.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, I love seeing a real "working" baker's rack. so French! I love the industrial looking ones that people stack dishes and pots and linens on. Have a great weekend!! xo
DeleteI love your late summer decor. That pear pitcher is my absolute favorite! That, and the mix of black tole trays speaks to me! Cozy quilts and pillows always lend themselves to comfort in my opinion, and you have a great assortment to be able to choose for the right time of any season.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Debra. Your collection of Majolica pitchers is amazing. They are beautiful!

Darling! I love sunflowers too. The majolica is such a great addition.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty room! As much as I love summer, I do enjoy the change of seasons and the colors that fall brings! Pinning!
