We may have put all the Christmas decor away, but we still want to enjoy the natural winter landscape. I've brought out some soft neutrals and pale floral pastels
to bring it all together in the January Garden Room. Deer have been a favorite theme this January and I'm sharing a few of mine out here on the Baker's Rack.
Earlier in the week I shared the white wicker settee, the Eastlake table, and the chippy painted bench that I use as a coffee table... but I felt like I needed a separate post to share the Baker's Rack.
I still have a few of my small faux evergreen trees scattered about and my vintage "natural look" deer.
My main objective for January is to keep it neutral and to pick up the colors of nature outside my windows.
One of the staples of the Baker's Rack is my wooden seed box lined with moss, a few vintage garden tools, an old metal flower frog, and one of my deer.
Two more are here on the lower shelf along with one of my favorite sheep prints, an old biscuit tin, and a wooden church birdhouse.
I love anything "cottage" in ceramics and pottery. I have pitchers and cookie jars, tea pots and sugars and creamers. And here is a pair of my vintage cottage salt and peppers next to an old 40's vintage winter barn print.
A little lamb inside the tiny vintage finch cage/carrier and an old Lipton Gold-tone Tea tin from Britain. Keeping it all in neutrals.
This metal 1920's National Biscuit Company (later the Nabisco Co.) "Uneeda Biscuit Tin" is one of my favorite sheep and lamb pieces. It's a perfect tin to store napkins or mail or note cards, since it has a hinged lid that fits perfectly into the bottom.
Did you catch my latest post on the Garden Room?
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, friends!
Stay warm and cozy...

Trying to stay warm and cozy. Sunshine helps on these really cold days. Love the deer so cute. Happy Saturday. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteDebra, I like your thinking. Warm, fuzzy, soft and cuddly deer seem just right. I gave up and put all my snowmen away. Too much cold for me right now. We still need warm and fuzzy for awhile..I always love to see your collections together, you have so many cute things..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteI love it Debra! And I had NO idea about the NBC. Cool bit of information. That is a beautiful tin. I can see why it's one of your favorites.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing how you change up the decor on this rack. A few days ago, I made a plan for giving our laundry room a facelift, and I have a bookshelf in there that I have not been sure of what to do with, and don't really want to get rid of it, but seeing this Winter Rack inspires me. Maybe I can paint it, and use it on my porch for seasonal decor...

I love your uneeda biscuit tin with the sheep. I have a small one with a child in a yellow raincoat. I didn't realize it became Nabisco. I love my tins...have a 10' long shelf high in my kitchen filled with my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love your garden room deer theme. Such a lovely, calming room. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen
