I found these cuties at Hobby Lobby in late Fall. They waited patiently until they could show up on the farmtable in the Garden Room. I've mentioned before that the farmtable has become my favorite expanse for a vignette. A long flat surface just begging to be decorated. Since we don't use it daily it's perfect for a big display of seasonal goodness.
I wanted some texture and a base for the table top, so I started with these burlap grain sacks from Amazon and sewed two of them together to make a little table runner. Then I layered it on top of an actual vintage grain sack for more width.
I've been using my antique ice cream bucket on the table since it can handle a large floral arrangement. I like to keep it simple and rustic, so for Christmas I just used faux greenery branches, holly and some red berry stems.
My vintage crate/tray is holding some red transferware plates
and a vintage cottage tea set.
Of course I had to add some plaid with a tea towel
and the deer got a plaid ribbon for a scarf.
This is a long room and it's turned into my "playroom". I've had such fun decorating out here, since It's always light and bright and we enjoy the view on 3 sides. We gravitate out here to just look out the windows. Funny thing, our last house did not have any windows with "a view". It was in a lovely rural subdivision, but the windows were not laid out to actually "see" anything. It was a beautiful Fall in this area, I just wish I had taken some pics of the trees around here, but the landscape woes had a hold of me.
Actually the reindeer have a little glitter on them,
like they are sprinkled with snow.
*Amber and I are taking a little break from All About Home Link Party next Monday
since Christmas Eve is Tuesday.
We're planning on being back with the party on December 30.
I have a few more Christmas posts to share,
so the rest of the Garden Room will be next.
I hope you all are having a wonderful week,
I always appreciate you coming by to visit.

DeleteSo pretty and always enjoy your plaids. I know I say it often. October is when I get my hands on some of the best Christmas pieces. Your ice cream bucket looks wonderful filled with greens.

Thanks Cindy, yes, Fall is a great time to shop, I'm never turned off by Christmas coming early to the stores. I guess I could have used them in the Fall too. Have a wonderful Christmas!!
DeleteLove that room, reminds me of the sunroom in our former house. It makes me happy to see your decor joy through the seasons in there, Debra. And that plaid kitchen towel is to die for! I love those waffle towels - so absorbent, and to be plaid?!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteLOVED seeing the Garden Room from this side!
Your glass cabinet is quite intriguing!
Merry Christmas!
