Hi Friends, time for the Christmas Edition of the Holiday Cupboard. I've had so much fun decorating this old cabinet out here in the sunroom aka the Garden Room this last year. It's the first Christmas styling I've done with it, and I've found a lot of fun vintage goodies to decorate with in my stash. This cabinet was storage at the last house, but now it's been organized to allow me to have some more display space for holiday pieces.
My ironstone pitchers tend to stay part of the basics here;
then I've been picking out pieces of Transferware to suit the season.
A few Putz Houses and white churches along with some more biscuit tins
fill things out. A few sheep are grazing here and there along with
two old prints of winter scenes.
Since it's Christmas I've gone with the Red Transferware,
and a couple of smaller white ironstone tureens.
I used my Brown for Fall, maybe I'll use my Green for Spring.
oh my gosh, don't you love this little guy?
Christmas decor just means red Tartan plaid to me. One year I tried doing all white and I just missed the plaid so much, so now I have to have plaid somewhere. This year it has spread all over the house.
Don't look too close at the blankets because I know there are some cat hairs lurking.
Better be good. Santa is watching.
It's possible that I'm in denial that Christmas is just next week...
We've had cold miserable weather with snow and ice here lately,
so I was glad that I had a photo day a couple of weeks ago
when we had an exceptionally sunny day.
Our landscape guy pretty much finished up here last Saturday morning.
(a few small projects for next Spring)
It proceeded to snow and ice a few hours after he left,
so I didn't have time to really take it all in.
But it looks a million times better and I'm looking forward
to planting a few things in the Spring.
I may even be able to take a few pics without cringing.
Hope you're having a wonderful week,
see you Monday evening for

I just purchased a great white bookcase from a going out of business store. I wasn't sure how to decorate it but seeing yours gives me hope!! I also collect sheep and they are all together in another cupboard and now I can put some of them (as long as family stays together!) in the new bookcase. Blessings and Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteBeautifully styled holiday cupboard!
I adore how you change out your transferware with your Seasonal decor!
Cute little lamb!
You have a nice collection of Tartan Plaid.
Merry Christmas!
Pat
I so enjoyed seeing all your Christmas decorations! I have the same metal picnic basket (second from bottom) from my childhood; it now holds my Christmas card stash! Working Christmas ornamentals and plates into your china cupboard was brilliant! I'm going to look at it again (Hear high praise there)!
ReplyDeleteI just had to giggle when you posted your holiday cupboard today. It's right next to mine in my reader feed. Great minds. Haha. I adore all your putz churches. I've got a few churches sprinkled about elsewhere with the vintage prints. So cute. Your sheep are adorable too.
