Weekend Inspiration and Fall Favorites

I'm totally dating myself here, but when I was thinking about a title for this post other than "Weekend Inspiration" the phrase "Wayback Machine" just popped into my head. If you're under 55 there's a good chance this will fly right past you, but since this is a post I'm sharing of some of my favorite Fall posts and pics from the past, somehow it fit. (do you remember Mr. Peabody the Dog and his sidekick Sherman on Rocky and Bullwinkle and his WayBack Machine?)

OK, enough of the oldies but goodies, cartoons that is...

I regularly find myself going back through my photo files for inspiration, hitting posts that were about the same time of year as would be current. I like to see what I was doing, and I LOVE doing it to other blogs, especially Fall themed posts. Now that I'm on Instagram I do the same thing there. If you've had an IG page for more than a year I'm all over the Fall pic posts.

I never tire of seeing the same photos, because each time they give me something new to think about and admire or inspire me to try. That would explain my magazine hoarder mentality that keeps boxes full of them and drags them out every year. Note: Mostly these are Fall and Christmas editions or old copies of Victoria Magazine.

So here are a few posts and pics from the past Autumns; several different Autumns, and sometimes the same pieces, just used in different spaces.

  1. The baskets, plaid blankets, and gold leaf pumpkin are my favorites here. I love referring to old magazines too, but I think you may be more organized than I am about it! Your exuberance for fall decorating is an inspiration. Happy weekend!

  3. I don't want to get back to the present! Especially after seeing this blog! I'm in love all over again with your blogs of the past. Your use of naturals is exquisite and I would like for my home to look like this year around. Debra, would you consider bringing this style back in to some of your present blog posts? I would love to see more. Sure enjoyed going back and looking at Common Ground the way it used to be!

  9. I find sooo much inspiration here, Debra! Thanks again for sharing at Share Your Style and I am happy to share your table with the lovely all white pumpkins in the white box at SYS #229 this week. I may have shared it before now, but that's okay as it still fits my style. :)

P.S. Can you tell me where you found your dining room chandelier? Looks like there is a similar one out in the entryway, too. Are they Kathy Ireland, by chance?? I do NOT like the more contemporary style chandy we have in this new house and yours is perfect! You know how I like to decorate mine for the seasons... I am having chandelier withdrawl!

Thanks so much and happy getting your backyard done. Saw your porch post!
    Hugs,
    Barb :)
