Hello Friends, Hope you're having a wonderful
Independence Day Weekend!
I wanted to share my Hearth Room that has a few Patriotic touches with you all before everyone starts packing away their flags and buntings. In the past I've gone all out on vintage red/white/blue fun decor things, but this year I'm still in "gotta find it first" mode. So I have the pared down version.
I brought out my red Toile quilted coverlet and pillow and a few vintage retired flags for a more subtle approach. Red and Summer just seem to go together!
I've been keeping a small quilt on the ottoman since this is my place to take a "sit down" and put my feet up. Besides there usually is a cat sprawled up there claiming the territory for themselves. So I want to keep it covered.
The mantel received a small change up with a couple of small vintage flags and an old Patriotic Insurance plate from exactly 100 years ago this year!
My Toile pillows are here on the sofa
and an old ticking pillow with a flag sewn on.
If you missed the spur-of-the-moment debut of my kitchen, you can read it here:
Now go have fun y'all, Enjoy the Day!
*(please do not comment negatively on my use of my old retired vintage flags.
They were found at flea markets, many times crumpled and in disrepair.
I honor the flag, the military and our country)
