Hi Everyone, I'm so glad you're here today to celebrate Spring and join us with our "Hop Into Spring" Home Tour. My good friend Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home has brought together a group of Bloggers who love to decorate their homes with the colors and warmth of the Spring Season. If you've come from Stacey at Poofing the Pillows, Hello and Welcome to Common Ground. I'm so glad you are here and following the Hop.
No matter how long and cold the winter, we know that at some point, Spring will once again wander in and delight us with it's bright and happy colors. Sometimes we have to give Spring a little nudge and create that feeling in our own indoor spaces. Sprinkle around a few buds and blooms, a nest or two, and a small herd of lambs, bunnies, and birds, and we can have instant Spring!
Today, I'm sharing my Kitchen Sitting Room since that's where I enjoy having my vintage and seasonal fun. Everyone needs a place where they can bring out the whimsy and color of the season. I have plenty of bunnies, lambs and birds to get us in the mood.
I like keeping my furniture and walls in basic white and neutrals so I can change up quilts, pillows and florals for whatever season I'm in. It's still pretty breezy and cool around here, so seeing some faux Spring flowers and greenery helps brighten the mood.
It's always fun to decorate on the old door behind the wicker settee. I'm adding some twigs and branches of Forsythia on the old mirror with a few vintage Easter postcards.
Having a tray or in this case an old crate, is perfect for corralling one of my ironstone tureens turned planter, a candle and a couple of Easter friends.
Can you see him hiding behind the Ivy?
And don't forget a stack of tea towels and linens to bring in the colors of Nature and Spring.
I've had this paper mache rabbit for about 40 years, it's starting to have a few chips and dings, but He has been one of my favorite holiday pieces to use for the Spring Season.
Of course everyone gets a pastel plaid ribbon for spiffing-up.
An olive bucket filled with faux Narcissus make an easy kitchen table centerpiece.
Salt and Pepper Black/White Sheep
The Baker's Rack gets a seasonal re-fresh for Spring. An old print of a vintage postcard, an old seed box display, and a vintage wooden tote filled with a couple of mossy bunnies and a vintage Fitz and Floyd Majolica Platter are also hanging around.
See the little pair of sheep on the bottom shelf?
They were a recent surprise from one of my favorite blogging friends...
more about them later.
A vintage Tumbling Blocks quilt in pastels gets to show off in the Spring, along with a few fun pillows.
Don't want to forget my "Bloomin' Brella"!
Thank you so much for coming by to visit. I hope you will come back later this week, I have a lot of Spring fun yet to share. Here's the list for today and Thursday's tours. Please be sure and come back tomorrow to catch the rest of the group. For now, Please head on over Laura's blog, Decor to Adore, for some beautiful Spring Inspiration! Thankyou Amber for putting this wonderful Hop together, Happy Spring!
