An Ironstone Pitcher for an Endless Summer Bouquet

I've been watching my Hydrangea bushes in the back yard, waiting for the right time to snip the blooms and bring them inside for drying. Several websites and bloggers say to wait until the blooms have gone to a deeper color and that their petal texture has become delicate and paperlike. Whoops... I almost waited too long.

It's hard to find a Hydrangea bloom that isn't pretty, even if they are a little too dried out. I love the pinks to burgundy to purple and faint and wispy greens of the individual tiny petals.

I remembered my Brown Transferware Staffordshire A.J. Wilkinson Robin and Nest Water Pitcher and thought it might bring a little hint of Fall to the impromptu arrangement.

I thought the pitcher would be perfect next to one of my Kitchen Sitting Area's burlap pillows.

When I purchased my two little Hydrangea Bushes two years ago, I wasn't paying a lot of attention, and just grabbed two that had pink blooms. Little did I know that one was a "Mophead" that blooms on old wood, the other was an Endless Summer that blooms on new growth. Well, unknowingly I cut them both back which stunted the Mophead, while the Endless Summer went crazy. So all these are from the Endless Summer. The poor little Mophead has only had a few blooms this year; I'll cut them to dry in a week or two.

I'm getting a little Fall decor going, and having a wonderful time.
