Easy Fall Centerpiece with a Galvanized Watering Can

I love a centerpiece on the Kitchen Table,

and I usually have a small wooden tote here,

but recently I've had to admit, a tote may not be very practical

when you have to move it several times each day.

Filled with dishes, a candle, tea towels, or a small ivy, it can get unwieldy...

and then it becomes an accident waiting to happen!

I have quite a few old galvanized watering tins, all shapes, colors, and sizes. Most of them are arranged on top of the potting bench out back. My older daughter bought this for me for my Birthday quite a few years ago, and of course it's not ever been outside. It's always been on my Baker's Rack to help celebrate my love for vintage garden goods.

It has a brass "Made in England" plaque and oversize spout,

and works for each Season and Holiday.

I usually have it filled with a variety of flowers

with a "just picked" feel.

Here's a vintage seed packet

for a mixture of gourds and pumpkins,

displayed on a stack of flower frogs.

Wouldn't that be fun, throw it out in the garden then

just wait to see what decides to pop up?

I'm using a coverlet on the setee that I've never shared before.

It's a "Cathedral Window" in browns, tans, creams and rusts,

that my mother-in-law made about 30 years ago.

My ticking bed pillow and brown floral ones

have to share the space with Miss Jenkins.

I find them in the floor once in awhile

since they get in her way.

The Baker's Rack is filled with a vintage Autumn Tray of Fruit,

several old orange pottery pitchers, and my seed tray that is a staple.

Anything orange ends up here,

like the vintage Twinings tea tin.
