Hi Everyone, Happy Weekend!
I've had Sunflowers on the brain for several weeks,
and have made a few faux arrangements for the house
in vintage watering cans, baskets,
and now this old rolling French Market Basket
that I keep in the Dining Room.
I had a few of the longer stem variety so I bundled them up
and filled up the basket with tissue paper to keep them together.
My Mom and Sis and I were out the other day having lunch,
and my mom was admiring a basket across the aisle filled with Sunflowers.
She commented on their perfection;
"Almost like they're real."
They ARE Mom.
you had to look really close...
It's amazing how close to nature some silk flowers can be...
I wish I could enjoy the "real ones", but too many allergies
and kitties who like to nibble.
So, I do the next best thing.
Here's a pic of the Botanical Window and grandmother's clock
that I painted several years ago; just in case you're new here
and didn't go through all the angst
of painting a million pieces of furniture "50 Shades of White".
I have more Sunflower escapades coming up.
Enjoy this late Summer weekend,
xoxo,

Debra,
ReplyDeleteOh, dear friend, I l o v e sunflowers!
This is the first year since arriving to this side of the Prairie
that "Mr. Ed" hasn't planted any.
Our Gardening friend told us the reason we had a sparce blooming last year
was due to the need of more nutrients to the soil.
She suggested we let the Sunflower Patch lay dormant for one Season.
Your Mother is correct with her statement that the faux ones appear to be real!
Your Sunflowers within the Market basket are stunning, indeed!
Fondly,
Pat
