Now that it's "Mid October" it's
time to bring more of the rich Fall colors
into the Kitchen Sitting Area.
(the light coming through the blinds
make a funny "Morse code" design on the hardwoods)
This is my favorite vintage quilt that I love to use in the Fall.
I remember buying it in Marietta, Georgia
at a little downtown antique store,
when we lived there 30 years ago.
It was $75.00, and that was out of my comfort zone,
but I had fallen in love, so it came home with me.
It's one of those purchases that I have always been grateful
that I followed my heart.
My daughter is doing some decorating change up,
so I'm borrowing these wonderful brown floral pillows from her.
They match my curtains from the old house,
so I'm thrilled to get to use them.
I'm just using 2 of the valences now on the kitchen window.
The dark rich brown adds a warm glow to the room.
I love using ticking stripe as a neutral for a pillow combo,
or a pumpkin!
The Autumn light is wonderful,
but it comes in pretty strong here in the kitchen.
soon the turkeys will be running wild in here!
A little someone else loves the quilt too.
This is her favorite napping spot.
I have 4 other of the brown floral pillows,
so I'll share them with you later.
They look "Perfectly Fall" in the Living Room.
I'll be joining in at these great parties:

It's really a shame we don't use the golden tones of Autumn more often...love your quilt, and it will easily turn Spring with your touch too. The brown is very rich...love that, Sandi

I love it. The quilt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have a quilt that I spent way too much for especially because I love to make quilts. But, I loved the pattern, the edges and the fabrics and I knew I couldn't copy it. And, like you, I have never regretted buying that quilt.
This is such a pretty space, Debra.
ReplyDeleteIs the quilt pattern Flying Geese? If so, it is very appropriate for Fall. It's a gorgeous quilt!
Now if that's not comfort and joy, I don't know what is. Love the quilt, and the fact that your pillow tie in with the valances. Great picture with your cat on the throne.
