I saved my Kitchen Sitting Area for a bit later, since I still have a few extra things I'm tweaking. One thing I hadn't had a chance to do was update my little vintage frame with a current Seasonal Botanical Print.
Owl Pillow cover from
I've shared with you before HERE, how I painted and highlighted this old frame that had been in a box of "what do I do with this?" items that might have gone in a garage sale if I hadn't come up with an idea.
My Kitchen Sitting Area needed prints on either side of the china cabinet, last spring when I was decorating, so I thought some Botanicals might be something fun that I could change out for each Season. The gold wasn't working well, so I painted it using a leftover mix of ASCP.
Then highlighted it with a light touch of antique gold.
This was this Spring's choice; dancing Tulips.
To keep it easy to change out, I didn't use glass;
just cardboard backing with an old wallpaper sample.
... a Sunflower for this Summer.
Now, this Giant Zinnia or maybe a Dahlia.
Hopefully, I'll share the Sitting Area next week.
But now it's time to announce the winner of the

Love the botanical & it's perfect in the frame. Did notice that you weren't at open house but Linda forgot to tell me you had been in (it's that age-thing). I've been so busy trying to get the house in shape to sell that I kind of have to run in & out at Leola's. Thanks for checking out the blog & you definitely weren't the person I was referring to when I said they thought I was a slacker.....just about 10 others. Jan
ReplyDeleteSo excited!!!....Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!....I cannot wait to get my beautiful pillow from Elliot Heath Designs!!!
