I'm not even going to try and name this "Early Fall Tablescape", because I'm sure I'll change this up in a few weeks for something a little more "Fallish" with some colorful leaves and berries. So let me be honest here and just call it, "First" Fall Tablescape. te he. I've already turned my calendar page over to September. I did mark a "31" on today's date, but I am ready to move into one of my favorite months and seasons. yep, more than ready. Last week I painted a French-y metal basket for the Dining Room table, and put together an arrangement that whispered the first nuances of Autumn. Here are some pics of the rest of the table.
I don't like to go "full on" Fall until there are more changes outside and the weather cools down a bit more, but these faux white Sunflowers and lighter colored Hydrangeas seemed just the perfect way to usher in my first changes for Fall.
I added a mismatched pair of wooden candlesticks and a concrete finial on a stack of books, to the tablescape, to add a little more white.
I have an antique grainsack with a caramel stripe on top of a off white burlap fabric piece for a tablerunner. (I took out the seam on the sides to make it twice the length) I like a wide tablerunner to cover up all the "brown" stained top of the table. It's too much "brown" for me, so I like to keep it lighter and it helps coordinate with the linen chair slips.
I lit my first Fall Candle of the season last week. "Leaves" from White Barn Candle Company is one of my favorites to get me totally psyched for Fall decorating.
Are you ready??
We made a trip to Eastern Missouri last weekend, and I can't wait to share some pics from my "Nature" pickings. It's definitely Fall along the winding riverbank's of the small waterways near the Mississippi River.

xoxo,
Beautiful Debra. Love the white sunflowers and hydrangeas together. Your table vignette is gorgeous and still light enough with summer still here. Very pretty.

Very pretty! I have to tell you that as soon as I saw the little linky tools picture for this post over at Coastal Charm's Show and Share I said to myself 'that has to be Debra's tablescape.' You sure know how to style a surface (and I obviously spend a lot of time online haha.)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Debra!
ReplyDeleteI love that it's large and spectacular and so gorgeous! I would love something like this on my table but it's the only table we have and my guys roll their eyes as they take it all off to eat - lol! It's beautiful, Debra!

ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous first Fall tablescape, dear friend!!!
I adore the soft, subtle hues in your freshly painted French~y metal basket!!!
Sunflowers are my favorite flower!!! I l o v e the white faux ones featured here!!!
Gazing across your Autumnal embellished dining room table,
my eye caught the top of your china cabinet.
The metal basket atop your china cabinet and the woven basket filled
with hydrangea are perfect compliments to your dining room table decor!!!
Like you, I turned my Calendar over to September today, and smiled!!!
Annual vacation is just 29 days away!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Yay, all of crazy Fall-nuts need to stick together, even if it's being in the next month!!
DeleteI'm so ready. I love the basket and your neutral sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteThe white sunflower arrangement is just beautiful. It inspired me to create a new Pinterest board for Fall. Yours is the first photo pinned to the new board. :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Debra. I love all the subtle Fall colors you've chosen for your first Fall tablescape. I need to get up into my attic and find my Fall boxes before I can begin decorating. Sigh . . . I love Fall in SC but I'm a bit sad to leave the Summer behind.

Very beautiful Debra and perfect for a summer to fall transition! It is feeling cooler here and I have the majority of my fall décor out. Still have to finish the porch and do a little tweaking here and there. Love arrangement you made! I was up two different canyons yesterday and today. Seeing lots of fall color already. Gorgeous time of year! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
