With the 4th of July just around the corner, it is time to break out the
Red White and Blue!
I've been working on changing up the Kitchen Sitting Area, and giving it a patriotic feel. The kitchen needed a good dose of "Summer" so I'm giving it a punch of RED. I started with the kitchen table, and gave it something different to wear. So here's just a peek at my Vintage Summer Kitchen, with a white tote filled with vintage utensils.
I started collecting vintage utensils when I started in the flea market biz. Several of these came from my maternal grandmother, and I've kept my eye out for additions for a collection. The red handled are the easiest to find. I have a few with that great "Retro Green" and then a few in white. I remember being at my grandmother's and using the hand mixer to make a cake. I'll share more on these soon.
A vintage picnic luncheon cloth in red and white,
a few rooster paper napkins.
an ivy,
and of course a flag.
Sitting on one of my grain sack linen runners.
I have a few Roosters,
that are going to find their way to the Baker's Rack next week,
It needs a Summer makeover, too.
Now, if it will just stop raining,
so we can actually "enjoy" Summer...

DeleteOh, I love this idea. The red gingham napkins peeking out are so festive, and I love your vintage cookware. You have the most wonderful ideas!

Another great vignette, Debra. Raining here in TX too, but we couldn't be happier after years of drought. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour vignette looks so pretty and cheerful. I wish it would stop raining here too. It snows all winter and rains all summer.

Love it! I need to get a tote!
ReplyDeleteLove it Debra-I like the red handle of the beater!
ReplyDeleteI never even think to decorate for the 4th, I have a whole set of patriotic dishes that I never use! I'm going to have to bring them out! I love your tote and the rooster napkins!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute Debra. Have a great week end.
ReplyDeleteKris
That is a very cute and patriotic centerpiece! I wish we would get some rain here. It's hot and dry here in GA!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteA true 'salute' to red, white and blue, dear friend!!!
I adore your collection of vintage kitchen utensils!!!
I have a few that are family heirloom, also!!!
I caught a glimpse of some of your Patriotic decor in the background. . .
quite intriguing!!!
The rain has stopped here and the heat is on our side of the Prairie!!!
Yes, ma'am. . .it's the Good 'ole Summertime!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Seeing all your vintage cooking utensils reminds me of ones I collected when we lived in KY. Sadly some of them went due to crabby hubs complaining about all my "junk" taking up too much room. Had to let go so many treasured things, even my home made hoosier he insisted there wasn't room for in kitchen. Total bummer.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love all that stuff and your vignette is so wonderful. We make totes like that or as I've seen them called "trugs". We make different styles and shapes only hubs won't make any more pieces for me until we sell some. Running out of room to store them. Enjoyed your tote decoration on your table so much. Happy weekend
Love the pops of color and vintage kitchenware. Looks perfect for July 4th!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and happy and ready for the 4th. I'm thinking of doing a "copy cat" post and duplicating the look in my own way. Please let me know if you mind. Thanks, sharon
ReplyDeleteIt is bright and happy and patriotic. Love that grain sack runner.
ReplyDeleteLove your tool tote full of kitchen tools. A nice twist.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is just so very charming!
ReplyDeleteLove your cute kitchen note and all your vintage kitchen tools. I remember my Mom having an egg beater like that,
ReplyDeletehaven't seen one in years, I thought they were a pretty cool tool myself, and I recognized some of the others too, but

I love your patriotic vignette! With some vintage kitchen items, like that awesome egg beater our mom's always had one I have no vintage kitchen tools, but ! I do have the same tool box, like a twin and I love it, they have such a special charm to them. I fixed my tool box for the 4th too.
