The Spring Forecast is Green

One of the things I loved most about having a shop space or antique mall booth was the styling and designing. I always had plans for each new Holiday and Season rearranging furniture and displays. That part was something I truly enjoyed, and I've really missed those days that I could bring in some new items and then just "play". Taking a color scheme and expanding on it with prints, dishes, linens, and accessories was and still is, one of the best ways for me to get my creativity and inspiration flowing.

We've had cold, gray skies, and snow for too long,
and today I was ready to bring in some Spring!

I just grabbed a few things that were "green"
and found some good light on the Dining Room table.

A vintage embroidered foot stool,  faux paperwhite,
some green transferware, and my little lamb porcelain box.

I found this ribbon 75% off in the Christmas clearance.
It looked much more Spring-y to me than Christmas.

Last Fall I found this print of an English Cottage to add to my collection...

When you can't get a jump start on decorating ideas, take a few things that have been speaking to you and just start "playing". Add and subtract. Then move things around. Taking pics helps to give you ideas on placement and content. Just see what works together.

I think I may leave this out for a few days,
and see what else I can bring into the mix.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who joined in on the first Share Your Syle Party. We had a great opening turnout. If you didn't find us, then click here. I'll be hosting next week, so I hope you'll come back and join in Wednesday at 6PM Central.

And I've just created a Pinterest Board, Share Your Style, of some of the highlights, that I'll be adding to each week. Hope you'll come by and join in. I really loved seeing all your "style"!

Have a great weekend, we have more cold,
frozen, white stuff on the way. brrrr.

  3. That's the most fun part for me now with antiquing also, Debra - styling, displaying the space. Your vignette looks great, and definitely speaks Spring to mw. I can style more easily & freely at the store than home, and winter's even made it hard to do at the store this year, between illness and bad weather. Spring, come soon! And bring my mojo back!

  7. Debra,
Oh, my. . .beautiful "green" to welcome the onset of Spring, dear friend!!!
I know exactly what you mean about giving up your booth and the desire to do styling.
Designing and styling within one's home is an amazing way to fill that void!!!
My color of choice for Spring 2015 is the soft buttery yellow hues of Nature's blossoms!!!
I'm going to stop in to view the new Share Your Style Party.
    Have a wonderful weekend ahead!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  9. I'm sorry it has been so cold and gray up there. That is what January was like for us. I love your spring green. That stool is adorable. The ribbon doesn't look Christmas to me either. I can't wait to see what you do with all the green.

  11. Funny, as the snow hasn't stopped coming down - with no sign of stopping anytime soon for over 12 hours I totally agree with you - bring some color and spring feeling in. I started yesterday and already my mood has shifted - though it looks out of place to me here, but oh well. It was premature to put away all my white/mercury glass/silver, and more white......I just had to do it. I am ready for spring, even if it is just my imagination.

  12. What a beautiful cottage print, Debra. That ribbon is great. I can't believe it was an after Christmas find. I would say that looks like Spring ribbon to me, too. You put together a lovely vignette. After watching it snow all day today and I'm really ready for Spring to arrive! I'm going to get some cleaning going here and start to bring out some Spring décor myself. It's time to take matters into my own hands!
