This week is my Birthday Week. Yes, I celebrate all week, especially when it's so yucky outside that no restaurants are even open! My Birthdays have been "low key" for awhile, just the way I like them. A certain sweet hubby brought me home an armful of tulips in lovely Spring colors, but I didn't even have an ironstone pitcher here to put them in, so they found their way to my little galvanized bucket.
This was the first time I have used a flower frog. I have several vintage ones, but only one with the metal grid design. It made for a much prettier arrangement, instead of all of them falling over the sides.
I have this little journal in precious pinks and lavender.
"Very beautiful flowers".
This is a little wreath I found last year,
and a few of my old garden tools.
My tiny friend is joining us.
She thinks she's hidden in the twigs.
I love collecting vintage embroidered tea towels. Now, in the times of disposable "everything", I admire the time and creativity that went in to decorating them.
The light here in the sitting room is northern,
but in the morning it's just perfect.
I hope "Spring" is closeby, wherever you are...
Oh so tweet!

I hope you enjoy each and every moment, doing all of the things you love to do, having lots of good things to eat... and getting some nice, warm Springlike weather!... your little wreath and birdie are so cute, and I love your vintage tea towel... much love, xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteIt might be freezing outside but your tulips look very "springy" to me. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Week, Debra. It is my birthday week, also. :) Love all your spring touches, especially the little twiggy wreath with the tiny bird's nests and bird. We, too, are wondering where or when spring is? Are we all suffering from bitter cold for our areas? It was in the teens one night this week, which is practically unheard of! My sweet-smelling little white daffodils have barely opened at all so far. A couple of years that bed was in full bloom on Feb. 27 according to the date recorded by the camera on the photo.
ReplyDeleteSo, until the real thing spring shows up, I will continue to enjoy it in wonderful posts like yours.
Judith
Happy Birthday Debra, may your whole week be so ever happy.. I hope you give yourself a break from packing! I love the tulips your hubs gave you! Such pretty pastels! I love winter, but I am ready for this year to end! Oh my I am just tickled to be the winner, you see I never win anything. To win at such a great store is so exciting. What do I do? Do they know who won? Gosh, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I will have fun shopping!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Debra! Those are gorgeous tulips. A glorious color. I lost power for awhile this morning.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
What a great color for your birthday tulips - enjoy your week, Debra! We got the arctic blast Sun-Mon like so many others, but on Sunday I had the chance to see a glimpse of spring's coming - crocuses in bloom in a neighbor's yard, and my daffodils were about 4" out of the ground (yes, I could see the ground, before this last blast of snow). Hopefully that was Mother Nature's grande finale here in our region.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Debra! My blog birthday is this week and my own birthday is next week! I think that your tulips are gorgeous, they are my favorite flowers of all time! I saw your Pinterest board full of tulips in your sidebar and since I have a tulip board myself, I must now go and follow! I just can't get enough of them! Enjoy your week! :)
