Hope 2014 is getting off to a good start at your house. We have a fresh blanket of snow which makes for such a pretty picture, but I'll be here packing my studio today. In case you've missed my last couple of posts, we have big changes coming with this New Year. We'll be downsizing and leasing a smaller house in order to do updates to this one before putting it on the market. We're planning to move within the next month or so. I'm hoping you'll be along for all the changes and craziness.
I may need a hug and a "snap out of it" slap in the face occasionally. LOL!!
I imagine a lot of you are getting back to "regular life" after the Holidays today, so if you have a few favorite posts or a Review Post hope you'll link up for a look back at 2013!
I wanted to share a few more Christmas posts that were linked last week;
if you haven't checked them out, you won't want to miss them.

Thank you for inviting us to link up review posts today, Debra! I wish we could all come over to help you pack!
ReplyDeleteGreat posts. Wish I was close enough to help but unfortunately I'm so far away. I really could live in a one bedroom house as some rooms I just walk through and never set in.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy and don't work to hard.
Mary
Hello Debra - I'm looking forward to reading all these inspiring posts - I do appreciate you hosting,

Hi Debra. New follower here, and linking up my Top Ten Posts of 2013. I read your post about selling your home and downsizing. It sounds a lot like our life right now. We're living in an apartment while we search for our next cottage. It will be very interesting to watch your progress, and I suspect inspiring, too. I wish all of God's best for you. ReplyDeleteOh my! You do have a big year ahead! It's been an unusual December for us, and I am still catching up. I missed Sylvia's post so I'm heading over there. Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration. All good things to you in the New Year! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared more Christmas posts Debra! Each of these has staying power for bringing us into winter and out of the sparkle of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYou may have a bit of fear and trembling regarding the move. But....I guarantee that it will give you renewed creativity. My personal situation is one where I could 'quit.' Yet....I have had fun working with almost nothing. I'll be watching.
Wishing you blessing beyond imagination in the New Year!
~Diane

Happy New Year Debra! I am wishing you good wishes on moving and downsizing. We just helped my Mother do this. She moved two states to be here with me and we downsized her to a house half of the size, it has kept me so busy since August. We did it ourselves with Uhauls and it took a whole month we are still going through the things she has to get rid of. This is why I have had so much new blog material! LOL!

It's one thing to wrap up Christmas and 2013, but to have to start packing up a life......no envy here. I hope you feel productive, in whatever you get accomplished. Remember to rest in between the work!

Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteWe went through the same ordeal four years ago. It was with mixed emotions when we decided to leave our historical farmhouse for a two bedroom cozy condo. We went with this one because even though it is a condo we have lots of privacy and even have our own little courtyard off the kitchen. I loved my old home. It was my dream home. When our children moved out of state it just didn't seem the same in our big old house. I know a few people thought we were crazy. I have to say it was a lot of work, it's taken me until now to let go of something's I now know I'll never use again. It was well worth the work and ripping off the bandaid and just getting on with it. You'll be so happy with you change. We feel so grateful that we made the decision didn't listen to the naysayers and went with our gut. We may have less but we feel so much richer. How can you put a price on peace of mind? I'm happy for you!!!!! You'll love it!
Happy 2014 and thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteHi lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting your linky party for us! Happy New Year to you and your family.
Diane
Thanks so much for the wonderful Feature!! Your vote of confidence came at a great time - like that snap out of it slap in the face you mentioned - but much nicer!!! I am sending you a cyber hug and hope that your move goes well. Hopefully it will inspire you to do what you do so well - make any spot that you are in beautiful!! :)
