What kind of fun are all of you up to this weekend?
I have a couple of little tidbits to share with you that were happening this last week. First off, I've had this old baby buggy wheel for years, but haven't done anything with it. I think it was the Junk Market gals, Ki and Sue that first had pics of these used as door decor. Of course I'm usually a day late and a dollar short, so I'm just now slapping some preserved leaves and a burlap ribbon on it and calling it "done".
My old picket fence gate with the great natural chippy white paint
always seems to be the perfect spot to show something off.
And my dear friend Becky from Timewashed sent me a couple of adorable fat pumpkins a few weeks ago, and I'm just now getting pics. Isn't that ticking stripe just the cutest? It matches my ticking pillows out here on the sunporch. She still has some cuties in her Etsy Shop and is starting on Christmas items. Can't wait to see what kind of goodies she will have.
thank you Becky, you're such a sweetheart!
and just a "Blogger" question...
anyone else out there having problems with it being slow?
takes forever to download photos...
doesn't read color or white correctly on photos...
Doesn't like "saving" the post...
acts like it's possessed?
I'm on Google Chrome,
any thoughts?
I've been pulling my hair out trying to do posts and get a new Fall header up.
If it's not "Blogger" then I'm skeert to think what it might be.
I don't like computer goblins.
(see what I mean, the background below is supposed to be white)
So, if you have this problem of your images turning grainy, mine were especially after saving them back to my file from PicMonkey, please read the comments below from Nita Stacy. She has the answer. Change the jpeg to png when you save it back to your file.
after changing it over to png.

xoxo,
The buggy wheel is so cute. It makes a great fence adornment. I love Becky's pumpkins too. Oh, yes, I've been getting error messages when I'm saving, or publishing a post. I think it IS possessed. It may be Chrome, but, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time I have commented. The first time when I clicked on publish, an error message appeared. When I reloaded this post, it said it did not exist. I went back to dashboard to get back here. Okay, as I was saying, the buggy wheel door decor is darling. Yes, I have been having troubles with writing and posting posts like photos appearing and disappearing and type thrown about the page. I am glad to know that others are experiencing the same bugs. Here I go the click publish. Let's see what happens.
ReplyDeleteI know, Donna, my post disappeared for a minute, so it was in the alternate universe when you tried to comment...yikes!
DeleteI love that wire pumpkin thing...where did you get that? As for the background color problem. I always save out my images as jpg's but a couple of months ago I saved out a new header and the background was all beige and it was suppose to be white. I want it white so it blends with the white of my blog. After resaving and messing with it and trying to fix it in photoshop. I decided to try saving it in a different format. I saved it as a png file and wham! it was white again. Next time I changed the header out..same thing. So now I save all my headers as png files. I think that will fix your problem. Let me know.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing....I spent at least an hour messing with something I thought I might have done wrong...even though its worked for three years only to discover Blogger must have changed something about their programming. Try saving it as a png file.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!!!!! Nita, honey, you have the answer!!!! I worked all dang day on trying to come up with a header. My problem is when I take a pic over to PicMonkey, work on it, then save it back to my file. Then when I uploaded it as my header it was degraded, gray and grainy. You've saved the day my friend. thank you so much for taking the time to help me out!!! I took a couple of the headers I worked on back to PicMonkey, then saved them as png instead of jpg. and it took care of the problem!!! hug hug kiss kiss!! Deb
DeleteI would suggest contacting Janel at Mrs Fix It. You need to get your beautiful self over to WordPress. The longer you wait, the more you will kick yourself for not having done it sooner. I know I sure did. Oh, and everything is darling of course ;) Shannon
ReplyDeleteLove your wheel décor on that fence. Darling! The pumpkins are really cute.
ReplyDeleteJudy
loving your cute striped pumpkin and your Fall décor. I just recently heard that Goggle Chrome is having some issues. Hope it clears up soon.
ReplyDeleteThe wheel decor is great..The pillow ticking pumpkins is really terrific - I love it. Have some left over will try and make one. Many thanks for sharing this wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteMary
Your coffee table vignette is so cute! I love the ticking pumpkin!!!
ReplyDeleteCute pumpkins, love the ticking one! I never use blogger to post always Live Writer, I did try using blogger one time and quickly deleted it and went back to Live Writer!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to get Blogger to upload photos to a post in Mozilla for a few weeks and I changed to Chrome and no problem. I wonder if this was my problem too. I love your buggy wheel and your ticking pumpkins! Thanks for your sweet comments on my Halloween post! That was nice!!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Love the pumpkins Becky made, the striped one especially! Nope no blogger problems so far, but I'm not yet on chrome. Happy Sunday Debra!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I love the wagon wheel. I also love Becky's pumpkins and own a few. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with for Christmas. Have a great Sunday.
Kris
Thanks so much for the png tip, Debra.
ReplyDeleteWe will be in your neck of the woods this week. Can't wait!! It's like going home.:-)...oh...it is going home.
That wheel is too cute...I love what you did with it.
ReplyDeleteAs for the problems everyone seem to be having...I hate to even mention this, but there was an update from Microsoft to update some security issues they were having with Windows 8 operating systems & Internet explorer....and the "Talk" is THAT is what blogger, PicMonkey and others are trying to catch up on....I don't know if it's true....fortunately (at least right now, crossing my fingers) I haven't had any issues....
You might start first with dumping all your cookies and such. Clean it out and restart it. That might help a bunch. Mine is working fine, but I dump daily. You might have picked up some spamware looking at things.
ReplyDeleteWhat editor do you use to make your header? I don't remember seeing that layout on PicMonkey, but I am going back in to look. It may not be a Chrome thing, it might just be Blogger updating and messing with things again. They are so good about that.
I'm loving your picket fence with the cute wheel and antique sign decorating it for the season! I've got a picket gate in our garage waiting for some attention and you've given me inspiration to pull it out of storage. Thanks! Cute pumpkins, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any problems publishing with Google Chrome, but that was over a week ago and there may be new bugs in the system. Picmonkey tells me my browser is too vintage, so I don't use it- go figure! I still use Picasa which HAS been giving me lots of problems.

ReplyDeleteHi Debra,
ReplyDeleteThat copper leaf is pure magic on your buggy wheel, so simple and perfect! Your coffee table display makes me smile, it's so full of elegance and autumn sunshine!

Adorable ticking pumpkin!!!
Have a marvelous week, dear friend!!!
Fondly,

hi debra! love the wheel as a decorative item ! as for "problems" with photos...i noticed that my header photo was reverting back to its original unchanged version every time i tried to post it....after some sleuthing around i found some advice which helped the problem....i had to activate Google+ and go into its settings and disable the "auto enhance"....and now everything works fine....but now i have a Google+ profile? instead of my old blogger profile.....not sure if that will help you......sounds like nita's tip helped....i wish things just stayed the same on the web, cuz my old brain can't take much more of this! lol.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Erin! I need to update things and I'm avoiding it, because I just don't want to rock the boat!
DeleteDarling vignettes!! I love the stuffed pumpkins and the wire one with the candle is adorable!! Did you make that!!! Too cute!~~Angela

oh gawd, that is a creat way to hang the wheel...LOVE
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest "slap on leaves and a ribbon" ever! I love Becky's pumpkins, and the ticking stripe is especially darling.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra! I always enjoy seeing your Fall décor! Everything is so lovely! I am especially smitten with that ticking pumpkin! So sweet! I will have to check out that Etsy shop! I just wanted to stop by and see what you've been up to, but also to say thank you so much for your visits and comments to my blog! You are so good about spreading the love! A true blogging inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBless you!
Amanda
Hi, Debra, I have some buggy wheels also and didn't know what to do with them. Thanks for the inspiration. By the way, I wonder how you put the Recent Posts along the top of your blog. I've been having a heck of a time trying to do that with no avail. Thanks for any help .. Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hints...my photos have been a real pain to load lately when writing a post...
ReplyDeleteHi Sweetie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see my pumpkins in your home!! The photos are so pretty. It was so much fun to create them for you!! And I spy the ticking one in your header!! Makes my heart leap!! You sure know how to affirm a gal, don't you?? And I LOVE the wheel!! It is perfect with exactly the detail it needed! {as usual!!}
Been keepin busy...one of the grandies busted her clavicle falling off of Mommy and Daddy's bed. So not fun to be in the ER with a little one that has been hurt. She is doing better now, though, but still isn't allowed to crawl. She is such a good sport!
Oh...and Google doesn't want to upload my pics. It takes forever! I used to use Live Writer, and might just have to go back to it. The only thing with it is that your pics don't show up in other peoples blog lists...just the title of your post. Oh well...still less aggravation. Don't understand for the life of me why Google, as big as they are, still has kinks on Blogger!! Probably because we don't pay!! Oh well!
Love and hugs to you my friend,
Becky
Oh I love the wheel, now why didn't I think of that. lol It is fabulous and where do you even find one? The ticking pumpkins are so fun too. Great idea. Thanks so much for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
