I've been slowly cleaning out the stashes of "stuff" that I've had piled in my garage for the last couple of years. Each week I'll take a few things over to Relics to add to my booth space. But even though I've looked at this particular item each week, I just haven't been able to load it in the car and let it go.
I've been wanting to do something different with the table top in the Dining Room for a while now, but just didn't know what that would be. I love my large French Wire basket, but was wanting something summery and chippy white...hmmmmm...
I knew just what to try.
This is an old handmade window box that I found quite a few years ago,
haven't used it, but couldn't let it go.
Anyone else out there with this same dysfunction?
It's kinda clunky and big, but for now I needed a change.
This helps bring a little "cottage-y" feel to this space.
(as I'm looking at this I see I need to invest in some new faux ivy)
Love the scalloped bottom.
This is the "backside", but still charming and chippy!
A nosy little someone, has to come and inspect anything new or different.
She will pose for the camera, but won't look me in the eye.
That way if I tell her to get down, she can pretend she didn't hear me.
...sorta like a kid...

You need to keep that....so many uses all year round! It looks great on the table!

Your planter is full of character and looks perfect in its new spot. I really like the contrast between the elegance of the furniture and the chippy old charm of the planter.
ReplyDeleteVery nice idea to use a window box planter for your centerpiece in the dining room. I love how rustic yet feminine it is.

Great windowbox, Debra! Love its white chippiness! It is such a great size that when you tire of it here, it would look great outside your front door or even in your sunroom.

The window box is darling, darling. Oh my goodness about the BlogHer ad. I erased an entire series blog I spent two hours writing. I started shaking, then prayed and was able to rewrite it from memory. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming and beautiful centerpiece! Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great centerpiece! I love it because it is substantial, yet low. I like the view from all sides, too.
ReplyDeleteNice job!
xo,
RJ
Oh that box is a keeper. I love its vintage-ness. Is that a word? LOL I think the white geraniums and bird's nest is the perfect Still-Spring-Not-Yet-Summer arrangement. Perfect, I would say. :)

Love kitty too.

Sissie

I LOVE it, Debra!!! Perfectly chippy and aged. I think there are so many looks and ways you could decorate with that old box. It would be beautiful filled with evergreen, berries and candles in the winter or bright, bold flowers in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'll be featuring you at next week's Knick of Time Tuesday party - thanks so much for sharing it with us!
Blessings,
Angie @ Knick of Time
Your old window box makes a wonderful centerpiece. Love this idea and it definitely gives a cottagey feel.

Very chippy charming quality to this box. And, yes, sometimes we just need a change. That dysfunction ailment of keeping things we haven't used must be contagious....I have it too!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful!!I love it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful centerpiece, I love the natural look! So pretty! What a great blog you have, I'm so happy to have found you! I'm your newest follower! :o)
ReplyDeleteThe windowbox is STUNNING - and I can't believe your kitty perched on the corner of the table - that's exactly what my latest blogpost was about! Except my kitty DOES look me straight in the eye and STILL doesn't listen when I ask her not to do things! haha... Donna
ReplyDeleteDebra! I love your box on the table. You were so creative to put the nest inside. It's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
