I was smitten with the little children's faces that reminded me of vintage Hummel characters. I imagine they are from the 40's by the look of their sticker on the bottom, and the fact that they are chalk and maybe plaster of Paris. (and that means so very easily chipped)
The little girl appears to be very shy, and she's holding a basket of baby chicks.
While the little boy is snuggling a load of bunnies.
Aren't they just adorable?
I have them downstairs in my shabby seating area.
(say that fast 3 times)
And I have to tell you, I've fallen in love with Pic Monkey. It's everything (well almost everything) that we found in Picnik, and hopefully they will expand once they can. I was able to do the little banner with the text on it (the first photo) there and watermark my photo. Super easy! You'll find the ability to do the transparent banner under the header of "overlays" then to "geometric shapes". Much easier to navigate than any other photo editing site. yay!!

Those bookends are so sweet, they do look like the vintage hummel boys and girls! I have been over to picmonkey but have yet to spend enough time to really get to know all of the new gadgets to play with. I really like the way you put the words on top of the transparent banner! t.xooxox
ReplyDeleteDebra, love the bookends! You know book ends are one of those things that you don't see alot of, at least I don't. And alot of times they are not very appealing when I do see them but these are so sweet. Love how you have them displayed too- not even holding books!
ReplyDeleteI am loving pic monkey too. I do wish I could figure out if they have the texturing layering option- I really like playing with the different textures Kim Klassen has been putting out on her blog.

Those are cute, Debra! Love the books they are sitting on and against. They remind me of how the Hummel figurines {the children} were done, except they are not in color.

I have some similar pastel colored bookends that have been sitting in the basement waiting for a home. Yours are perfect for spring! I hope to find time to check out that new photo editing site. If it's easy, it's for me!
ReplyDeleteThese are sweet bookends. Yes, they do remind me of Hummel figurines.
ReplyDeleteI love this room it is so bright and pretty. I love the box with the hydranges. Very pretty. I like the chest in the room too.
ReplyDeleteChicks, bunnies, and sweet little children. Adorable all. I must get to Pic Monkey because I finally did get a big girl camera although the manual for it is in some lost ancient language.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable, Debra! I love chalkware and have a little girl chalkware figurine that looks like a Hummel, too- it was my grandmother's. Pic Monkey IS really fun...I haven't tried the watermarking there yet...have to try it!
