Well, we're back in the Hall Bathroom today,
so I can share the rest of the re-do with you.
I have boxes and boxes of old original framed prints. I know, I know...I collect lot's of things. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe this print is an R. Atkinson Fox from his English Cottage Series. I have several others in the same series, and I just adore them. They are from the mid twenties, and it's in it's original frame. (if anyone has info on this print, please let me know)
I rescued this little Chippendale shelf
from the neighbors trash heap a few years ago,
and it's been in here for the last 8 years.
It was freshened up a little with paint and some "new" treasures.
I'd like to have a small cabinet for this spot,
but for now I'll keep this.
I just love "cottage", and can't seem to get away from it.
My rosy chamber pot holds extra TP.
I have two of these gorgeous old mirrors,
anyone know what they're called style wise?
Are they shaving mirrors?
Originally, I had wanted to hang several of my old birdcages,
but the room just wasn't large enough.
This one is filled with two old celluloid mirrors,
an antique crocheted purse, and a birdie in a transferware cup.
this is an antique print that I had wanted to use in the wall gallery,
but just didn't "fit".
This print and old chalk sconce are on the opposite side of the gallery wall.
Another English Cottage print with an old chalk kitty asleep on the sconce.
And this vintage hooked rug that I wanted to keep with the color scheme,
love the florals with the taupe.
...and then I have this old chandy that needs to be rewired.
I'm hoping I can get hubbs to help me see this installed.
It's so pretty, but half of the crystals are off,
and they all need to be cleaned.
maybe for my Birthday coming up...
I'm totally in love with this paint color;
Behr 730C-2 Sandstone Cove
It has a wonderful taupe-y gray undertone,
but still very neutral...
it's making me want to paint the rest of the house this color,
oh yikes!
I'm having a quickie Follower's Give Away for

ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great.Love that color too. That chandelier will look amazing in that room. What a fancy powder room.I found a chandy just like that years ago on the side of the road headed for the garbage man.Can you believe that?I cleaned it up painted it and hung it in our kitchen in our last house.I wish I would have taken that with me :-(
Love the changes in the bathroom! Can't wait to see the chandelier once it is up! It will look great!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty things and how you've put them all together so well makes for a cozy wonderful place to be refreshed.
ReplyDeleteThis is darling--I absolutely LOVE the rug!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking lovely. Have you thought of putting a pretty fabric shower curtain across in front of the glass doors?
ReplyDeleteDebra I love everything about this room! You have done such an awesome job - love the sweet birdcage filled with goodies and your gallery wall is fantastic. The pretty shelving is decorated to a T!

Love your wonderful cottage accessories. Every piece goes so well with the next.

I gotta comment on the TP in the chamber pot, but I can't come up with a clean way to say that's better than what they used to put in 'em! So I'm thinking keeping toilet paper in it is sort of like going right to the source.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Love all of the vintage touches in your hall bath. The chandelier is going to look fabulous in that space!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you with the new Linky tool!
Debra,
ReplyDeleteYour Hall bath is turning out marvelously, dear! Your vintage art prints are in amazingly good condition. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

ReplyDeleteI have found crystals at Etsy, if you are looking for some.
Your cottage bathroom is very pretty! I love the rug and the prints!!
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom turned out so pretty. I like all of your cottage accessories too. I believe your chandelier is the same one that I have hanging above my bed! Mine needs to be rewired so that all of the lights will work. I bought mine at an antique mall. There's no telling how many of those are out there. Ha! I didn't realize you were doing a giveaway. I'm headed over there right now!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! <3 what you have shared! Hugs!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen TP look so pretty! ;-D

Um, excuse me but you are blocking my way into your powder room...I need some privacy to...drool. I LOVE IT. I have two of these rose arbor prints and don't know anymore than you. I picked them up for a song at garage sales and not only loved the prints but the patina.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, You make me wish mine looked more like yours. I love the pictures and everything that you have used in it. The color is really pretty. Have a wonderful weekend. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom makeover is beautiful, I have a real softspot for Behr pain with primer, everything I touch with it looks great. Hugs Mary

ReplyDeleteJust found a beautiful ol' chamber pot myself, now I know its a keeper after seeing what you did with yours!
What a pretty makeover you gave your bathroom. I'm a "cottage-lover" too so I've drawn to the charming old prints you've hung on the wall. The color is great too. I need to spiff up my 1952 pink bathroom - you've inspired me. I'm following you via Linky Followers now and have Common Ground added to my "Inspiration" blogroll on my sidebar. I'm off to enter your giveaway and I hope you stop by Cottage and Creek and enter mine. Have a blessed Sunday ...

Guests will be in there for hours enjoying all your beauties! What a wonderful collection of vintage, chippy prints. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThe prints and shelf are wonderful and very YOU.
ReplyDeleteLove your renewed shelf. I have shelf very similar to that. it is currently stained (mahogany) but soon to be painted. I love the look of yours, so now I feel better in my decision to paint...Love gazing at all your beautiful treasures..the wall paint is so calming and soothing in the bathroom!..
ReplyDeleteLove your bath redo. Looks so quieting to me. I am waiting for a chance to start mine but have been having some vertigo problems and not able to get up on the step ladder recently. Kinda crappy because my youngest daughter is expecting a new baby this spring and I was in the middle of helping her paint and move bedrooms around when this struck me. Bother. Have a good Sunday Debra!
ReplyDeleteYou have the prettiest loo!
ReplyDeleteNo surprise there, every room of yours is a beauty!
XO,
Me
Beautiful! I love your rescued shelf! It all looks gorgeous! I love cottage too!

Very sweet and romantic cottagey! I love cottage...I lean toward a New Cottage look since my men won't do with flowery. Sheesh. Love your space and the direction you have taken. It has a very vintagey quality.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely vintage filled room. I love the wall color and you've inspired me with the use of the birdcages and the display inside. What a wonderful way to use it.

ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous, Debra!!!
ReplyDeleteI had to sigh though, because I sold an old birdcage just like yours and I miss it! I do have the same Baby Ben as yours though and love it!

Hi Debra, I found your shaving mirror via a Google Search (and coincidently I follow your blog!) I have just blogged an old shaving mirror I found and was wondering if you could shed any light on the age or details as it is very similar to yours. I've blogged it here: http://www.knotallthatiseam.com/2012/05/thrifty-find-old-brass-swan-shaving.html
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie
