First I used some fabric left over from my chair seat recovering from last year, natural Osnaberg, and a little nubby muslin for a ruffle. Then, once I did that I realized I really wanted a little somethin' in the way of color and pattern. So when I found this roll of French Inspired Ticking at JoAnne's Fabric that was on clearance, I grabbed it quick. Hopefully, it will be my next project, and two pillows to match for my extra Dining side chairs.
Here's one of the said Dining Room Chairs painted white, I know this set would be fabulous painted. OK, enough of that. Someone slap me please... maybe a winter project...or not.
So now back to French inspired fabric and tablerunners...
I found these woven placemats with handles a few weeks ago at Relics,
and when I went back for more...
they were gone, boo hoo.
Orphan red transferware and my French monogrammed tea towels.
I really love this fabric.
I found these other pieces of the real deal on Pinterest from Ebay.
Mine's pretty close, huh?

I love your fabric and those tea towels. I think your dining room set will look beautiful when you get around to painting!!
ReplyDeleteI understand your hesitation...I've got several pieces I want to paint...I've got the chalk paint...I can't wait to paint but I keep putting it off. I'm afraid its not going to turn out how I imagine.
Have a great day!
Debra, that fabric is wonderful. I may need to go find me some. I am not a seamstress either. Wish I could just whip things up. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteI know your post was about the ticking but as I was looking at the pics I couldn't help but notice the chairs! I have the same chairs (different fabric) and a round table. No wonder I thought they were great!
ReplyDeleteDebra, you can get some more of those square willow chargers at Nell Hill's on line.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up Debra!
ReplyDeleteSherry

Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty room. Your furniture is gorgeous either way you decide to go. Maybe if everything else is white you will decide to leave it as it is. I love that first fabric too! Thanks for hosting--
Mary
Hey Debra...great find on that fabric. I would have purchased the whole bolt as well.
ReplyDeleteSo, of course, I feel in love with the woven chargers and immediately went on line to find me some. I now see above where Kim told you to find then online. I also found similar ones for a little less at World Market (but I like the grey ones better...oh dear).
Blessings,
Susie
I've always been enamored of ticking. And how I envy your gleaming wood floors!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

ReplyDeleteHello lovely party friend! I'm going to have to head on over to JoAnn's and see if I can find some of that ticking stripe, I just love it! And those placemats are so fantastic and unique. Thanks so much for hosting another fantastic party!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Love the red ticking & what cute wicker chargers! Thanks for hosting, Debra.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Debra! I love your table runner and yes, those chairs would look fabulous white! I do love the one you have off to the side in white. I'm not going to tell you to go one way or the other on that though because I know some people hated the suggestion of it to Heather last week.
ReplyDeleteOK, girl! Let me be the first to publicly "slap you"...in love of course. ;) You MUST get that dining room furniture painted! Every time you look at the one white chair, it must inspire you. It's absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your single place setting is beautiful, as well. And your French ticking looks enough like the "real deal" to me.
Thanks so much for the feature, Debra!

ReplyDeleteDeborah, You can get the chargers at World Market online...they're a little darker looking than yours though. I have a set and like them but they don't seem to be as sturdy as they should be.

ReplyDeleteI love that fabric you picked Debra. You're right it looks alot like the real deal. I totally understand you hesitating on painting your gorgeous wood set. It is gorgeous. I love the 2 chairs and table you recently painted though, those chairs do look super in the white! I have china and buffet set from the 20's that was a family hierloom, and I think about painting it once in a while but I really love the birds eye maple in the wood.
