This is my second time participating in
hosted by the lovely Karen at My Desert Cottage.
Welcome to my studio
It's the place where you can usually find me!
June 2010
(these walls really were not mustard,
but I just couldn't get a good picture in here)
I've made a few changes in here,
the one with most impact was painting the walls a creamy white.
Seeing the photos from last year prompted me to get out the paintbrush.
(I seem to have a small addiction to paint...)
This is my computer station where I do most of my blog.
My vintage worktable...
always piled with ideas for new projects
with old train cases, suitcases, and trunks full of paper supplies.
This sweet satin partial manny is my model for my jewelry photos
for my Etsy Shop
I use "found items", and old jewelry pieces to create one of a kind key pendants.
watch pendant
Last fall I painted out a cupboard to hold jewelry supplies.
And a chippy shelf holds a variety of fun items.
"watch the birdie!"
Birds are a favorite theme in my studio
I recently put together these altered art hanging photo album pages
with vintage bird graphics.
They'll be in my Etsy store soon.
My over stuffed comfy chair with ottoman and vintage standing lamp
Every studio needs a spot to relax
An old piesafe holds other craft supplies
This is Irma, named for my paternal grandmother
who also models for me.

Hope you enjoyed the tour,
thanks for coming by from Where Bloggers Create
I'd love for you to come back and visit again soon.

Debra - Such a marvelous spot for creative juices to flow! You have filled it with all of my favorite things! The dolls are a particular fancy of mine - although my daughter would be totally creeped out by the doll heads in the basket! She doesn't like any of my babies. Now, I know the little lady seated in front of the bird picture in the salmon colored gown and bonnet - is that a Horseman doll with rolling tin eyes? If so - it is my mother's doll which I now own, sitting with another circa friend from the late '20's in their repro carriage with lace umbrella. I've got to do a doll post! I'm redoing my space - but it is VERY small. Thanks for some inspiring ideas!
ReplyDeleteJoy!

I'm so pleased to visit your studio again this year, Debra! You are my first visit for the Where Bloggers Create party. Love the new wall color {don't happen to remember the name, do you?}. I also love the furniture you have in here. Your computer area is so pretty it's no wonder you have posts filled with such beautiful pics. Love the table and your manny, too! There is a good chance I will be having my own little room when we downsize. I am really looking forward to that and hopefully, by next year's party I'll have a proper "room" to show off. I'll have my post up in the morning. : )
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a nice and cozy place to create. I also enjoyed your photos of your living room. I really liked how everything turned out after the paintbrush got a hold of it:-)

ReplyDeleteI love your big comfy chair. I have one in my studio too and I love, love, love it! I am getting a kick out of how many people have named their dress forms. I guess I will have to name mine. Thank you for sharing your space.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! It is so soothing and warm and inspirational, when you have white on white (or cream on cream). Really love what you did to your space, and I know the issue too well when it comes to yellow walls. We painted our kitchen soft yellow (cream cupboards), and its a very soft yellow, but we took a picture and it turned out almost like we put the sun in there on full blast. So needles to say, its going some time soon!!! Lovely space and I really enjoy reading your blog posts, so I will come back for sure.
ReplyDeleteHappy creating and summer to you,
Mari
