I have always loved greeting cards, and literally have boxes with almost every card I have ever received. I love keeping them out on display, sometimes for weeks, just to enjoy them.
Last year for Valentine's Day I decided to make Valentine card hangers, so they could "hang around" for awhile. I found these red vintage bingo cards and then used vintage children's Valentine cards with a little mod-podge and glitter. It was my first time to try something like this and I had a lot of fun making them.
And now that I know what "Stickles" are...
it should be a little easier.
The thing I will do differently is to use matte
mod-podge instead of gloss...
too shiny.
I love ribbon of every kind and color,
especially holiday ribbon,
to dress up any paper project.
A little red heart-shaped pin cushion
joins in.
My crafting quota has been really low,
but I enjoyed these so much,
I'm going to put some together this weekend.
Vintage buttons and Valentine ribbon embellish the hanger.
And thank you sweet Donna of Brynwood Needleworks,
who gave me this wonderful "Sweet Friends" award.
Donna and I came to know each other through my
Give-away last fall. She has been a real blessing to know.
Hope you have a great weekend.
We're expecting a blizzard
... brrrr.
I'm staying in to play!
love,
Debra

Adorable!!! They are lovely creations!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a gift of seeing "what could be" from "what is"! What a novel idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat Valentine Bingo Beauties! Love them. I am amazed at the creativity out there in the blog world! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI save every card too...my poor kids are gonna hate me some day!
ReplyDeleteI always have good intentions of doing something with them besides sticking them in a box. I just love this idea! Did you jump up and holler BINGO when you thought of it? BTW, bring me up to speed...what are stickles?
Debbie
Congratulations on your well deserved award!
ReplyDeleteLove your Valentines!
Blessings
Really cute idea for the bingo cards and valentines. What are stickles? We don't have a choice of glossy or mat when it comes to decoupage glue around here. So many wonderful things available in the States that I've never even heard about. I just work with what I can find. We are having dust and wind today. Yuck! I plan to stay inside as much as possible. Have a great weekend. :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteHi Debra:

Oh I love those Debra! Those are such sweet vintage valentines you were able to use! Stay warm, it's freezing here too, good time to get some creative juices flowing! ~ Theresa
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteThose are too cute! I love them. I just pulled some old childhood valentines out of an old scrapbook (the type we kept as kids) and was trying to figure out how to use them in the tags I made on the wreath I posted a few days ago. Too bad I did not see your post I might have copied. They are still sitting on my work area I might do something with them yet. Your pin cushion is very sweet also.
love your Valentine cards- how clever and creative- of course red check always my favorite. cannot wait to see more cards. just listed a red check post myself.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend.
Karen
These are so sweet, Debra. What a wonderful idea - I may have to try that myself!

ReplyDeleteYou are certainly creative, Debra. I seem to lack the creativity gene, as far as arts and crafts go. But I do like to leave special cards out for a while to enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award. Have a wonderful week!
You'd certainly never know this was a 1st for you. They are precious. I know you had fun.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Debra. I didn't know that Donna had already given you this award. I looked on your sidebar but should have checked closer. OOPS....Tracy :)
