Everything's coming up...Sunflowers!

Now that August is upon us, I can safely call it "Late Summer", and late Summer always means Sunflowers to me. So here in the Dining Room I changed out the white Geraniums and the lighter tablerunner for my Frenchy Stripe tablerunner and the windowbox centerpiece full of happy little Sunflowers.

(does that sound too much like Bob Ross the 1970's painter with the big hair
from PBS, and his "happy little clouds...trees...mountains"?)

I found this wonderful Sunflower Botanical pillow and I fell in love. My other Sunflower pillow in needlepoint was lonely so this one works great to balance out the church pew.

It needed a darker pillow behind it to set it off, so the black and white teensy check came in from the Sunporch.

Even though I hate the heat of late Summer, I'm always excited when we get to August because that means Fall will be here soon. Yep, watch out Fall here I come!

I have this wonderful old metal flower stand in the Dining Room that I don't show often, but today it has a reproduction seed box on it with a Sunflower wreath ready to be hung up somewhere.

Love my giclee print in muted tones on canvas of the sheep.

See what I was doing last year with Sunflowers, Here and Here

Around the house and a photo bomb...

This is turning out to be a busy weekend. The big kids are here for their 20th high school reunion ... yikes...just saying that makes me feel old. And Sunday is my last day at Relics Antique Mall, so I'll be clearing out whatever is left of the booth and call it done. I've loved the experience of having a space, but for the last several years I've had to do things on my own, and that part isn't fun. Time to move on to new things, and I'm looking forward to having that day each week to catch up on some other projects that need taking care of.

And speaking of flea market shopping, I found this great little "God Bless Our Home" cross stitch recently.

I have a little soft spot for "homestyle" cross stitch pieces; I created my share back in the 80's and 90's. I always admire the amount of time the stitcher put into the piece and when I see them for just a few dollars I always want to rescue them and give them a new home. I found this one a few months ago, but the dark frame didn't work for me, so when I painted my kitchen table it got the ASCP treatment.

The browns and golds and orange on the shutters made me think to put it out here on the sunporch with the other late summer colors. I tried several places but it ended up on the baker's rack.

And while I was digging through some cabinets yesterday, I found a good bunch of tan striped ticking that I bought last year for a table runner....totally had forgotten about it. So now maybe I can get that made since I'll have a little more time.

LOVE this wonderful wreath!

So, while I was out in the sunporch takings pics,
who shows up for a little nibbling of the greens?

hmmm...which one looks tastier?

I guess we all need our fiber...

Be Inspired #150: Renewed

Some people have a knack... actually, it's a gift, to be able to look at something and see a transformation in their mind. They can take discarded and forgotten misfits, and then give them new life... Angie from Knick of Time has that gift. Her Etsy Shop, Knick of Time is a testament of her creative ingenuity and hard work, where everyday objects become beautiful and functional vintage decor.

Angie's latest transformation is this amazing Grain Sack Wicker Sofa. She gives us a step-by-step on her transformation process, and makes all of us know that we can salvage wonderful old furniture and objects, if we will just think outside the box.

The "Before"...

Angie used bits and pieces of old lace and fabrics
to give this old beauty a second chance at life.

and don't you love her wonderful photo styling?

Here are some other great links from last week's party.
Kris from Junk Chic Cottage and her hubby transformed a chaise into this Wonderful Day Bed on the Deck. Honestly, each time I see Kris' amazing outdoor spaces I'm in awe. so lush and beautiful!

Lynn from Fern Avenue transformed a vintage dresser with too many layers of paint into this wonderful Hot Baths Vanity for her daughters' bathroom. She gives us a look at her makeover and stenciling process, too.

Kim from Reposhture showed us How to Make Table Legs with Casters. With an old coop and some salvaged legs and casters, she created a fabulous coffee table. Love the patina on those legs!

Jann at Mrs. Olson's has been Harvesting Lavender from her yard, and she has it all tied up in a wonderful vignette.

Megan from Restoring the Roost  has been busy with her garden this summer, and she shares a yummy recipe for these Spicy Refrigerator Pickles. Love the so fun fabric coverings on top!

And Yvonne at Stone Gable can take a bunch of veggies and elevate them to a work of art in her Summer Salad in a Jar. Doesn't that just make your mouth water?

thanks so much ladies,  for sharing all the inspiration!

Today,  Leslie Janson, is in the Sponsor Spotlight. Leslie creates one-of-a-kind handmade eco-friendly jewelry and pillows made from eclectic vintage elements. Her creations make wonderful gifts for yourself or someone else who loves up-cycled goods and accessories. Hope you'll run by and check out  Leslie's Etsy Shop!

Hope you'll all join in for Be Inspired today, which is open for all your inspiring posts. I'm not a stickler for "rules", but I'd so appreciate you including a link back to Common Ground within your post, not just a multiple party link to another page. I know it takes a minute, but most of us take the time to do it. I've seen so many wonderful posts I'd love to feature, but that's one of the party etiquette guidelines. 99% of readers will not click that link to see where you party. So, please just take a minute more so I can feature your wonderful inspiring posts here at Be Inspired
Thanks everyone, for coming by each week to join in on the party; you vintage-lovin' peeps are the best!!

Hope you'll check out these other great Friday Parties!

 Have a great weekend,
xoxo,
OK, time to link up what's been inspiring you this week!
