Hi friends, this has been a long week or so trying to get outside cleanup accomplished around the house and yard. I have to take it easy and not overdo it physically because I then pay for it the next few days. We have a big yard, and even though we hire out the big projects, porch cleanup and container planting are a job for me. big job.
I put away the darker Bosphorus Toile tablerunner and replaced it with a lighter neutral toile design. My default large metal basket filled with faux hydrangeas and ivy went back on the table with my mini French Wagon alongside.
It's always fun coming up with pieces to display in the little wagon. This season I brought out my little shepherdess which I think is reproduction Meissen porcelain. When I found her she had already misplaced her dainty shepherd's "crook" and I've yet to find a replacement. I placed her on an antique edition of Ivanhoe and covered her with a larger glass cloche.
A vintage rose floral pitcher works perfectly alongside for a romantic, feminine feel. It's labeled Avon, but I've found that there was a Stratford-on-Avon Pottery in England back in the early part of the 1900's which I think this is. I filled it with a faux spring nosegay to add some extra spring color.
A 30-minute Spring table refresh went a long way to brighten up the dining room atmosphere and give me a lift too. The buffet is on the simple side with a few more sheep and an ironstone tureen. I did grab a bit of time to polish some of my vintage silver pieces. I found a silver champagne urn idea on Pinterest that I'm going to give a try.
We have a rainy stormy weekend ahead of us, so all my planted containers are sheltering on the patio and front porch. Now I'm trying to keep the squirrels out of them. New loose dirt is too tantalizing for them to ignore.
