I'm working this week on a few Valentine's Day vignettes and the Holiday Cupboard, and at the same time I'm still enjoying my basic "winter" décor. Valentine's Day brings back the reds, along with pink and creams, so I'm trying to balance things out without going completely overboard by "redecorating" the whole house. Wasn't I just putting away the Christmas tubs a week ago?
My winter décor is cuddly and cozy, which I'm really loving, and I still have a few pics left to share. Today, I'm sharing the Garden Room with the baker's rack and the sitting area.
After the new year I gravitate toward neutral colors and embrace a natural, woodsy look. My evergreen trees (aka mini Christmas trees) are still dotted around with a lot of browns and woodland colors.
The two winter prints here on the shelves are from the 40's and 50's. They are rural scenes of a Sunday walk to church and a farm setting. The large metal biscuit tin is from NBC, National Biscuit Company, "Uneeda Biscuit". I think it's probably from the 1910-1920 era. The white enamel coffee pot was from my dad's cabin cookware. I think the Currier and Ives cookie tin is from the 70's or 80's.
My little "SEED" box stays here almost year round. It's great for old garden tools, pots, and even a birdhouse. Of course the sheep love to hang out here.

I changed up the quilts and pillows to light neutrals and grays on the wicker settee. An English needlepoint pillow is something I've had for years and years and the gray ticking stripe covers came from Amazon.
My white vintage crate has paperwhites and a mini tree. Can you see the little crazy quilt heart tucked in the paperwhites?
Lamb paperweights with a handmade hanging heart on the hexagon basket weave lunch hamper.
The wicker chair is still dressed in brown Tartan plaid.
And my vintage pocket pillow has two of my New Year vintage postcards.
Love those vintage winter snow scenes.

ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, thank goodness and the previous owners. The Garden Room has it's own heat and air and it funnels into the rest of the house. So it's toasty out there. It's been so cold here too! What a sweet compliment, that's my thinking... to give people ideas on decorating and vintage inspiration!
