Coffee Table Garden Room Vignette

Hello Friends, Happy St. Patty's Day! Are you wearing green today and preparing your slow cooker dinner of corned beef and cabbage? I am wearing green, and I do love corned beef, but I can't get there with the cooked cabbage... Anyway, I'm celebrating today that I'm a teensy bit Irish. I thought I'd share a little bit of St. Patrick's Day out here in the Garden Room with a new Shamrock plant and an old pink/green quilt on the wicker settee.

I shared my St. Patrick's Day Holiday Cupboard a couple of weeks ago, and right now I'm about ready to mosey on to the Easter decor. I'm so glad Easter is going to be Mid-April this year. When it's early, not only is it cold and not very Spring-y, but it doesn't give us time to enjoy the lead up with fun decor. 

This year I made a point to bring out this old quilt that I haven't used or shared for several years. The pink and green star pattern makes it perfect for Spring and St. Patrick's Day. It's pretty tattered, but the colors are so pretty for this time of year. Funny how certain fabrics hold up through the years. The pink blocks and green fabric are both intact, while the lighter colored small floral pattern has shown much more deterioration. I overlook that and concentrate on the pretty colors. 

Floral pillows, Taupe Buffalo Checks and a sweet spring birdie pillow join the quilt.

I'd had a shamrock plant for years and years and this last year it just pooped out on me. Not sure why, but after trying to coax it back to health for this last year, I decided to start over. If there's even a bit of growth left I won't give up on a plant, but when I saw these plants at the nursery I just decided it was time to replace the old pitiful specimen. They're still in their plastic pot but I added some moss around the edges for filler in the antique ironstone tureen bottom.

Last week I had the flowering bulbs in this basketweave metal lunch hamper, but now they're snuggled in one of my antique seed boxes, (which I'll share at Vintage Cottage Weekend). Some old painted clay pots and my little iron sheep paperweight fill up the other side of the bench.

A decorative birdhouse, green transferware sugar and creamer 

and tea-for-two majolica teapot gather on a wooden scalloped tray.

The metal basket with handles under the coffeetable/bench is a family

memento from my in-laws when they owned a small town 

grocery store in the early 60's.

The green metal hamper in front of the cupboard was purchased

 at the same time as the other metal hamper before Christmas on Etsy.

The old watering can in green is from my long-time stash.

The adorable moss-covered shamrock is from HERE.
