The Holiday Cupboard is for the Birds

Hello there, Friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week and that you're enjoying warm pleasant late spring weather. We all seem to have some outdoor projects we're trying to get to, but golly, it's been chilly and rainy around here... again. I'm not sure why this surprises me because it's often cool and rainy in early to mid May, but I'm sorta over it.  You can remind me of this when I'm complaining in September that it's too hot and dry. I've been wanting to get my outside containers put together and it's been too cool to get out and do much. I did finally get to the nursery over Mother's Day weekend to pick out some flowers so maybe I can get those finished up by this weekend.

But today I wanted to share the inside of the Holiday Cupboard decked out for late Spring. Last week I joined in with some friends for a Hop showcasing our cabinets and cupboards. I focused on my fave piece of furniture, the Holiday Cupboard, and took it through the seasons and holidays of one year. So now I'll share a bit of what's going on in the inside this month where there's a bit of a "bird thang" happening. 

This set of vintage bird illustrations (below) survived the "print purge" that happened when we moved a couple of years ago. I love using vintage prints inside the cupboard along with seasonal dishes, ironstone and other vintage decor tidbits. I brought out the green transferware and ivy dishes in March for St. Patrick's Day and they're still here. I'll probably change out the dishes soon to the Faience for summer. It's full of bright color and looks wonderful with all the Patriotic fun.

It's interesting, but there usually ends up being some sort of "theme"

that each new restyle of the cupboard brings.

This sweet "tea for one" cottage teapot is part of my 

little collection of English Cottage pieces.

This is a Lefton China "Flycatcher".

I've mentioned before that my mom made this adorable,

 garden-y cabbage "Majolica" covered veggie tureen back in the 80's.

My vintage "Bloomin' Brella" is hanging on the outside of the cabinet door. 
I've found that these cabinet doors make a great backdrop 

for all things that need to hang for photos.

I honestly cannot read who painted these illustrations.

It's a Scandinavian name and I can't figure it out.

Any help out there?

I can hardly believe that it's nearing the middle of May.

Summer will be here before we know it and I've barely gotten

the plants out on the front porch!
