Welcoming Easter Entry with Paperwhites

Sometimes when pieces just "work" for a spot or space I leave them alone. That's what has happened in the Entry here at this house. I changed things up more at the previous house, but this entry is so light and bright it calls for like-minded pieces. It seems that whatever I place here tends to be a neutral color or something that doesn't overpower the basic feel of the space.

No matter the season or weather, the light is wonderful here and I can always get good photos even with the front door closed. It faces north and even though we have a large overhang on the porch, and trees out front, the mullioned side windows keep it sun filled.

Late last fall I purchased a big bundle of faux paperwhites and that allowed me to put together a larger arrangement in the Pottery Barn urn. (I looked on their website and they don't have anything similar to this now)  I like to keep the stems closely grouped with some grapevine rolled wattle. Whether they are real or faux, the flower stems seem to want to flop around and fall over. Adding a little holiday token gives a more festive feel. This year it's a small painted vintage egg.

I had a length of Springy-green and cream toile wired ribbon

 to also dress it up a bit. 

My vintage-look glass frame is holding an antique Easter postcard.

It's perfect for displaying vintage postcards and ephemera.

This is the spot that I keep most of the bigger elements like the mirror, lamp, and clock year round. Then I seasonally change up the flowers, prints, and small accessories. I love vintage prints and keep a stash of smaller ones that work layered here in front of the mirror. 

I found this print with a linen liner at one of my

 fave boutiques here in town.

I've been using it for Spring since I bought it.

Hard to believe that April will be here next week!
