Welcoming Easter Entry with Paperwhites

Sometimes when pieces just "work" for a spot or space I leave them alone. That's what has happened in the Entry here at this house. I changed things up more at the previous house, but this entry is so light and bright it calls for like-minded pieces. It seems that whatever I place here tends to be a neutral color or something that doesn't overpower the basic feel of the space.

No matter the season or weather, the light is wonderful here and I can always get good photos even with the front door closed. It faces north and even though we have a large overhang on the porch, and trees out front, the mullioned side windows keep it sun filled.

Late last fall I purchased a big bundle of faux paperwhites and that allowed me to put together a larger arrangement in the Pottery Barn urn. (I looked on their website and they don't have anything similar to this now)  I like to keep the stems closely grouped with some grapevine rolled wattle. Whether they are real or faux, the flower stems seem to want to flop around and fall over. Adding a little holiday token gives a more festive feel. This year it's a small painted vintage egg.

I had a length of Springy-green and cream toile wired ribbon
to also dress it up a bit.

My vintage-look glass frame is holding an antique Easter postcard.
It's perfect for displaying vintage postcards and ephemera.

This is the spot that I keep most of the bigger elements like the mirror, lamp, and clock year round. Then I seasonally change up the flowers, prints, and small accessories. I love vintage prints and keep a stash of smaller ones that work layered here in front of the mirror.

I found this print with a linen liner at one of my
 fave boutiques here in town.
I've been using it for Spring since I bought it.

With many of the same elements.

Whoops, he's been caught with the carrots.
My itty bitty bunny on a cabbage Majolica plate.

Here is the Easter Entry after we first moved here in 2019.

Hard to believe that April will be here next week!
I'm definitely ready for the warmer weather and
to see that beautiful green haze in the tree branches.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love the light in your entry on that console and all the vintage lovelies. The majolica bunny plate is adorable, the frame unique and, of course, the sheep print fabulous. The urn with the paperwhites is very springy! We are having a fabulous show of spring blooms here in our region, and I hope you get to see much the same!

  2. So pretty Debra! Very light and airy and of course, springy. Is springy even a word??? I don't know but it seems perfect to describe your entry. I love the little splashes of color from the egg and the majolica plate. It comes together just perfectly. Have a great week and a beautiful Easter!

  13. I agree with the comment above, your urn is stunning!!! I love your lamb print and probably comment on it each year, Debra. ;) Such a pretty display, and actually, you and several others (particularly Amber) use paperwhites a lot in spring displays. I caught the bug for them last year and have been on the hunt ever since! I found some at Judith from Botanic Bleu's Christmas sale this past December and bought a small bunch. They happily sit in a little blue and white Chinoiserie planter bowl and I just need to use some chickenwire to keep them in and add some moss to hide it all. ;)

Happy almost spring and I am happy to feature your post at this evening's Share Your Style #338 for you. <3

    Many hugs,
    Barb :)

  14. The blooming paperwhites are lovely, and the addition of the grapevine wattle is both attractive and functional. The different shades of white along with the muted green touches work well together in this sunny spot.
