Hi Friends, I cannot believe it's actually February
and in a little over a week it will be Valentine's Day...
So I wanted to do my monthly/seasonal "restyle" of the Holiday Cupboard.
I have so many little odds and ends that it's always fun
to give them all someplace to go hang out.
I'm not sure why,
but I didn't get a Valentine's Day Cupboard arranged last year.
I totally missed it and went straight from January to St. Patrick's Day.
Not sure what that was about,
but this year I've been thinking about having fun in here
since it was time to put away Christmas.
I actually did a more "busy" version with vintage postcards first,
but later I decided to declutter just a smidge.
Just a warning... so if you see pics showing one thing,
then another, you'll know why.
I love this vintage Whitman's Valentine candy box, mainly because it is pink and gold.
It's pretty hard to find the old ones; I guess many just were thrown away.
I made the modge podge hanging Valentines with vintage graphics years ago
when I had a market space, but they've always been a problem
because they've tended to stick together.
Above is a Czechoslovakian Ceramic heart mold that I've had for years.
This Wilbur's Breakfast Cocoa tin looks like an old piece, but it's from the 1980's.
They just chose a vintage look design for their packaging.
whoops, now this little card is in a vintage gold "dimestore" frame.
Vintage flower frogs make the best postcard holders.
This old candy box is huge, but has some water damage.
I bought it to use as a template or backing for a project,
but I never got around to doing anything with it.
The wicker settee in the Garden Room still has it's neutral
pastel patchwork quilt but now has a Valentine cover
for the pillow, instead of the brown embroidered one.
(I know you guys probably think I'm crazy,
but this "decorating the cupboard thing"
comes from having several vintage market spaces for years.
We had to play up all the seasons and holidays to keep things freshened up.
It was so much fun, I just didn't quit when I closed up shop!)
in case you missed it.
Hope you're having a great first week of February!
hope you'll come back by on Monday evening at 6:00 central

I love it all but especially that Wilbur's Breakfast Cocoa can. Our son is named Will and often call Wilbur. So fun!
ReplyDeleteNot crazy at all! I'm a retired teacher and still love to decorate for the seasons and holidays, too! I always enjoy stopping by. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how you come up with so many different looks for your holiday cupboard. I love all the tins that you incorporate for the seasons. That little cupid on the cocoa tin is perfect.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful!
So much lovely eye candy! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteDebra, I love vintage pieces, and when a company turns out a vintage looking tin like the cocoa it's worthy purchasing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely cupboard display for the season. Thank you for sharing on on Friday with Friends!
