Christmas Plaid in the Garden Room

Hey Everyone, I'm sharing part of the Garden Room today,

and will probably need another post to cover it all.

What can I say... it's a big room and I have lots of junk  vintage goodies.

Today I'm focusing on the wicker loveseat, coffee table, and the little corner with an old iron corner shelf. I also have a "convertible" table (really old) that I just couldn't let go of when we moved. It had been in the basement of both of our previous houses so it wasn't seen often.

I've mentioned that my Dad made me the coffee table/bench

before he passed back in the late 90's.

It was on the sunporch in our old house and 

under the deck at our last house.

I'm glad it's out of the weather now,

where  hopefully, it will last.

Fun little packaging from vintage Shiny Brites

and Christmas tree lights, sitting on my green toddler chair.

After buying one particular set of super retro Christmas lights years ago, 

I had the "bright" idea to actually plug them into a socket.

OK, I realize now how foolish that was,

but I was being optimistic...

can you guess what happened?

totally blew up in front of me with sparks and everything.

Scared the stuffins out of me.

Thankful that I didn't ruin the outlet or start a fire.

So... I'm not quite so dumb now.

so how cute is this vintage Tartan plaid umbrella?

Even my garden girl has her Tartan on.

Unfortunately this corner plant etagere had been outside

for 5 years and it now has a lot of rust.

It doesn't look like it, but this is super heavy.

This time Tartan wool throws and blankets.

This old table is Eastlake with extensions on the tabletop.

I don't share this or the shelves often because they don't change often.

That's my office on the other side of the window.

Old silver tray, sugar and creamer.

I made a bunch of these little patchwork Christmas 

heart ornaments one year, but gave most of them away.

I need to make more, because they make me smile 

each time I see one.

I love working with fabric, but don't have the patience for big projects.

I tried making a quilt once but didn't see it through.

My Mother-in-law came to my rescue.

I still need to share my Hearth Room mantel and Entry.

Too much stuff, too little time.
