Warm Woolens in the Garden Room

It's November; mostly cold and rainy, with gray days and a multitude of Brown. Most of the leaves have come down and been mulched by our trusty yard guy with his mower. The beautiful Maple trees with their oranges and reds are long gone, as are the lovely golds of the Hickories that cover our front yard. It seems like overnight we are on the road to winter. 

This is a view from the front door back on November 4.

As you can see things are looking bare.

Our subdivision is "mid-century" built,

with a lot of homes having undergone major remodels and renovations.

The trees and yards are large and well established; just beautiful in autumn.

The mums and pumpkins on the front porch are ready for recycle 

and I'm waiting for a time to take out a few Christmas topiaries 

and some Christmas color.

On the inside I've been hanging on to my warm

 late Fall plaid woolens in the Garden Room.

I love Tartan plaids, and the winter months 

are my favorite time to indulge in them.

I only have a few wool blankets in Fall colors of browns, greens, and rusts. They come out in late Fall when the temps start getting a little cooler and you aren't sweating when the sun comes through the windows in the Garden Room. I have a few wool punched one-of-a-kind pillows too. This one is of a fluffy gray sheep hanging out on the wicker settee. This is a favorite cat perch, especially nice with a cozy warm blanket.

This is an interesting tray that I found years ago. 

At some point someone used an old frame and added primitive handles

and a remnant of tapestry for the base.

My rusty brown metal lantern and turkey tureen have a spot on it.

Last year I couldn't locate my painted cornucopia but it surfaced this year,

so it's setting here on the old bench, too.

I love this short window of time for these cozy comfy Fall hued blankets.

I've found most of these at Vintage Markets or Fleas.

I have a lot more that I use for Christmas,
