Hello Everyone, One week till Thanksgiving!
Do you have it all planned out?
I guess it will just be the two of us for the holiday.
That's what is best for us this year,
but I'm sure missing my family and kiddos.
But I've been distracting myself with doing some early Christmas decorating,
mixing it up with Thanksgiving for an easier transition next weekend.
You all know what fun I have putting together a seasonal/holiday look in the Holiday Cupboard. That space gives me more room to display my transferware and collectibles... and I seem to have a lot of them. Last year was the first year to decorate for Thanksgiving and late fall here at our newest home. (I know there have been several places since I started blogging) The Garden Room/Sunroom is so much fun to decorate for whatever the season.
It would be easy to just replicate what I did last year,
but I'm trying to mix it up and to keep what little creativity I have pumping.
I don't know about you guys, but it's been hard to stay creative and get inspiration
without being able to get out to antique and vintage stores and markets.
I looked forward each year to the fall and Christmas open houses at the shops,
that literally "pumped me up" with fun ideas for the holidays.
I'm using my brown transferware still,
but will be changing up for the red very soon.
This is a replica Toby Jug, that I honestly don't remember where I found.
I hadn't displayed it before so I figured now was as good a time as any.
I hate to say goodbye to Fall,
but happy to say Hello to the Christmas Season.
if you'd like to see that post.
I'll be rushing through some posts to be able to share the rest of my Thanksgiving decor with all of you. I'm running out of time as usual. I hope you all are having a good week and staying strong during this really tough time. I can't even think about Christmas yet; feeling angst about how to plan a family get together, not to hurt anyone's feelings, but being safe and conscientious about our health. I'm praying that next year we will be back to a somewhat normal life. This seems like a "lost year".
Hugs and love to you all...
Hope you'll come join in next Monday

Always loved your cabinet and with all your pretty Thanksgiving it looks amazing. Happy Wednesday. Have a great day. xoxo
ReplyDeletethanks Kris, who knew one little old cabinet could bring so much joy? haha! you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
DeleteYour holiday cupboard is absolutely charming! It looks all ready for a perfectly lovely Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeletethankyou Jeanie, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
DeleteThings do look different this year. Last year we had a house full. So strange. I've been gloomy about it but God's been in control thus far. Blessings to you this Thanksgiving. Seeing your holiday cupboard is always a treat.
ReplyDeletethanks Katie, I feel the same. My girls are torn about how to handle the holidays. It's hard on all of us. You have a wonderful distraction and the perfect time to be working on your new place. You guys have a great Thanksgiving, only if it's the two of you.
DeleteWell, thank goodness for blogs to keep the inspiration going, Debra. Your cupboard looks great. I love brown transferware too, but did not get any of mine out this year other than 1 huge pitcher I keep out of storage. That toby mug fits right in, and I love the deer pitcher and that little door hanging bittersweet pillow.
ReplyDeleteHa, gorgeous!!! I have to laugh, me who normally doesn't touch a stitch of Christmas until after Thanksgiving has been outside, hanging lights, garland and bows like a banshee. We have switched to LED's and everything needed to be rewired. Since we aren't having Thanksgiving, I'm still enjoying the orange in the house, and my Holiday cupboard will have to be happy for awhile. We are cooking, packing it up and throwing it out the car window to the kids...to enjoy safely in their homes. Sigh! Happy Thanksgiving, Sandi
ReplyDeleteOh! So lovely and festive as always. Your brown transferware collection is beautiful and I love all the seasonal details. Wishing you a lovely Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteXO- MaryJo
I absolutely love your transferware. I walked past a platter at an estate sale recently and now I'm kicking myself! I know what you mean about the holiday markets -- I miss them too! But this too shall pass, right? Wishing you and your family a relaxing and blessed Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us are eating alone this year and are sad to be missing ourg-babies. I am also looking for a few new decorations, mostly on etsy. We are still trying to decide what to do about Christmas. We have 4 boy g-children including 2 yo twins. Hard to miss that. Also still deciding about the tree. Yes or no?
ReplyDeleteYour holiday cupboard is gorgeous as always, Debra! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Farmhouse Friday! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteDebra, I feel the same way... It does seem like a lost year. I love how you've decorated your cupboard for Thanksgiving and I needed to get over here last week and say that I am glad you linked it and your mantel with its glorious display of frames!!! I was very happy to feature both at SYS last Wednesday just before Thanksgiving. Talking about late as usual, I only have a couple of posts out with any kind of Christmas theme. Just couldn't get there with the virus and then only a week off for Thanksgiving, but I did enjoy putting up a new tree (pre-lit!) and will share them later this week or early next. Running out of time... Oh, well!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving,
Barb :)
