Back years ago when I had a few vintage market spaces, I loved decorating with seasonal colors, textures, and items. I also would put together small nosegays and tussy mussies tied with a seasonal ribbon and used them for decorating and sold quite a few each season. I love playing with faux flowers and since I rarely throw away any blooms or branches, they are perfect to bunch together a few odds and ends for a small arrangement. It's even more fun if you can find a vintage container for your posies.
I have a few of these metal Twinings tea cannisters in some seasonal colors that are perfect for little groupings of flowers. Many teas are packaged in paper/cardboard boxes now, but these small tins from (probably) the 70's are much more fun to display.
I may move this little riser to the island for a display in the kitchen,
but I just put it together and wanted some good light for photos.
My two little pumpkins are the real thing though.
I brought the stripy one in from the porch.
Since I have all my seasonal decor in tubs in the garage
it's much easier to get to them and have a place to create.
So, I've been putting some small vignettes together for Fall,
to bring out some beautiful Autumnal color.
I really enjoy decorating for the seasons and especially Fall,
but if you don't want to do a lot or have small spaces,
some seasonal color in florals and a few pillows with a throw
will easily bring out the fun and coziness of Autumn.
I'm trying to keep things a little more simple this year,
so when it comes to the Christmas changeover
I won't be overwhelmed with work.
I have a few mums and pumpkins out on the front porch,
and I changed up the door basket with more Fall-like flowers and leaves.
(The front porch is so much better this year than last,
when we were in the middle of landscaping.)
I'll be sharing that soon.
Have a great rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteDebra, love the little tea tin. You are so right about putting bits and pieces in tiny places. I am trying to do less and think maybe I am on the right course, some may not agree! I just do my best. Your colors always seem just so right with all your white backgrounds. They are so pretty..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteI like the pretty tin box. That looks so great. I am doing a little fall this coming weekend. It has been so much like summer still so it has been hard to transition. Hoping this weekend to get some decor up. Have a great rest of the day. xoxo Kris

I saw your tea tin and bought the cutest small black one off Amazon with Paris on the front. Not vintage but soooo darli! And it’s full of tea, bonus!!! Thanks so much the idea!!
ReplyDeleteDebra, I love your arrangement — so clever to use the seasonal color tin.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar tin that I keep some fake flowers in but I need to exchange them for a bountiful bouquet like this. I LOVE this look!
